At first I was only looking for a LG microwave because I wanted a microwave that matched my range. I was going to get a fairly basic model because heck it is just a microwave and I don't care about a bunch a features I'll never use. Then I saw the Extenda Vent function and I knew I found the microwave for me.

The biggest selling factor regarding the Extenda Vent is it vents the front burners. Most microwaves don't get the front burner and steam from boiling water or cooking just goes up the front of the microwave right over the control panel. The control panel is a major weak link in over the range microwaves because they are right over a high heat source and electronics don't like heat. The Extenda Vent keeps this heat and water vapor off the control panel, which I hope will lead to a longer lasting microwave.

I have only had the wave for 3 months now, but so far it has worked perfectly.

The microwave also looks great.

After a few months this unit overheated and died. Technician "repaired" and months later the same thing occurred again. The technician told us that it overheated because we were using the range at the same time we were using the microwave! It is an OVER THE RANGE unit!! Should it not be designed to be used over the range? The unit continues to overheat now trying to heat ANYTHING even without using the range. LG customer care has not been helpful and have been giving us the runaround. I would not recommend this product. Never thought I would say that about an LG product, but LG's response is the the bigger issue. We are still stuck with the broken unit and more than likely will have to buy another unit from out of pocket. Money down the drain.

Bought this unit from Bust Buy (great price with reward certificates).

First unit had a missing internal anchor bolt and was replaced with another unit. This second unit lasted 3 months then stopped heating food. Had a bad magneto and burnt wiring harness. This was replaced with a 3rd unit. This 3rd unit also had a missing internal anchor bolt.

We are on our 4th unit so let's see how long this POC lasts.

Less than one year old. The appliance would lose power at random, and then power would be restored. I called Best Buy (where I bought it) and they sent out their Geek Squad. After multiple visits they replaced:
1. EAM35001864 FILTER,AC LINE
2. ACM72980807 CONTROLLER (This was replaced twice as the first replacement pad was defective. It's also very expensive)
3. 3B74133Q FUSE, DRAWING
4. 6324W1A001H MAGNETRON (This is a REALLY expensive part as it is the soul of the microwave)
5. 6930W1A002B THERMOSTAT, BIMETAL
6. 0CZZW1H004S CAPACITOR,DRAWING?HIGH V
7. EAD61674702 HARNESS,MULTI
8. 6851W1A002E CABLE ASSEMBLY
This was covered under the manufacturer's warranty so there was no cost to me, but during the technician's five trips to my house I was required to take time off work. After the technician's third trip I visited Best Buy and asked them to just replace the microwave. They told me that they were only contracted by LG to repair, and not replace, defective equipment.
Last week, the keypad on the microwave started to fail again. The "Timer", "Defrost" and #5 button no-longer work. I cannot afford to take more time of work, or bear the cost of future, out of warranty, failures.

Never, ever buy an LG microwave! Three years ago, I splurged and spent $800 on a microwave/convection oven combo. I trusted that it was a quality product and that would last -- wrong on both counts. In less than three years, the control panel failed and the repair was a control panel replacement at $670 which could only be made by a LG approved repair shop. LG customer service offered anything but service. They were surly, unhelpful, and have THE most obnoxious and repetitious ad they inflict on lengthy phone hold victims. Since it costs $350 to buy a new, non-LG microwave installed, I'm reluctantly sending their shoddy product to the landfill. LG doesn't stand behind their product, they are not built to last, and I will never buy any of their products again. I hope you don't fall into the same expensive trap that I did.

It works as advertised. We liked the slide out vent, don't think anyone else makes one with this feature. Was easy to install,did it myself without help. It had a little flaw in the front middle of the slide out vent, I called LG service and they sent out a local repair company to take care of it.

I purchased this microwave back in the summer and stored it until I had my kitchen renovated. The oven was installed in October and I love it. It has a lot of nice features that I thought I'd probably never use, but I have used them. The exhaust is really efficient. The only negative I have and it's not really a negative, is there is a slight vibration when it's running. It's on a wall that backs into another room and you can sometimes feel a vibration when the oven is on. It's not enough to be a problem, kind of like the same thing you'd notice if you had your washing machine where you tell when you had a load of clothes in. I'm very happy with the microwave.
