4.0 out of 5 stars LG Microwave
Pros:
Cooks well. Great features for sensor cooking. Like the buttons on bottom. Rotating & articulating cooking try results in more even cooking -i.e. less hot/cold spots.

Cons:
It is very noisy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Microwave, October 9, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this microwave. It cooks fast and more even than others I have owned. I really love the warming lamp. Keeps food warm till everyone is ready to eat. The only problem I can find is that it has no timer. I miss that. I would buy again.

1.0 out of 5 stars lg lmvm2085st microwave, October 5, 2010
This review is from: LG LMVM2085ST Over-the-Range 2-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven with Warming Lamp, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
It looks good but beauty only gose skin deep. We bought this item 18 mo. ago and it been out for major repairs 5 times. Four occured the 1st year. We had it 1 week and the warming light and oven light would blink on and off if you opened the door to check the food, and a rattle in the upper right corner. It took a control board to repair the blinking, no repairs for the rattle. Sent out again for the rattle, no repairs. Sent out again for the rattle this time they replaced the fan. The 4th time the turn table motor need to be replaced. The 5 the time the touch panle quit working and the vent fan had only one speed. It took a control board, a new touch panel and a new fan motor it get it running. We got the unit back Sep 27, 2010 and tonight we cooked pasta and it went out again just like the Sep 6 failure, nothing worked. I think that it is a design problem that it can stand to much steam.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hating right left sliding feature., January 28, 2011
This microwave slides left to right and turns in order to heat evenly and accomodate certain size casserole dishes, but there is a problem. It needs a part, like an arm on a record player, to stay in a certain position for it to turn. When it comes out of place, like an arm out of socket, it doesn't heat properly and part of the item is hot and overdone at times and other parts cold. This happens nearly every time we use it, and sometimes I am fixing it every minute it cooks. I would never buy this technology again. The buttons on the bottom seem fine, which was my big concern when I bought it thinking the panel would not function after time with the steam from the stove under it, but it has been fine. There are melt and soften buttons for melting margarine or butter, nice. The fan seems to turn on by itself when there is significant steam from the stovetop, which is good if you don't realize it started to need it. The light is great and the fan is great (although quite noisy on any setting). If I had bought the model that didn't have the slide left to right function, this could have been a great microwave. I have the black version, not white or stainless. LG LMVM2085SB is the black.

3.0 out of 5 stars LG microwave LMVM2085SW design flawed, January 6, 2011
By
Purchased in Oct 2009; installed in new home for use starting in December 2009. Within first month, oven would not heat or did so erratically. Warranty work to replace a circuit board to fix that problem. At the one year in use mark, the rotating plate/tray began to jump off track; another service call diagnosed a melted gear in the drive motor (supposedly a known design flaw based on plastic parts in a hot environment). Currently requesting warranty repair through LG. Parts online are cheap enough, but I question any company's integrity that does not step up and admit their known problems. Pending claim for repairs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Shaft melted in under a year, October 5, 2010
By
This review is from: LG LMVM2085ST Over-the-Range 2-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven with Warming Lamp, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
The shaft that connects to the turntable melted, and no longer rotates the platter assembly. This started happening about 6 months after I purchased the unit. I'm fairly certain this is a design flaw. Unfortunately I didn't call LG in time, and the warranty was only 12 months. So I have to buy the whole platter assembly just for the burnt shaft which will cost you over $50 with shipping.

Other than that I liked the styling, features. The unit works very well minus the flaw above.

2.0 out of 5 stars Venting is noisy and useless, December 29, 2008
I purchase this oven to replace a Sharp countertop model I've had for years. The only reason I replaced it was because I remodeled my kitchen and I wanted to free up as much counter space as I could so I went to this LG over-the-range microwave and I'm sorry that I did. This LG can't hold a candle to my old Sharp. Using the re-circulating vent sounds like a frieght train and hardly removes any smoke at all. The door is flimsy and there is no way that you can close the door without slamming it shut and making a loud bang. It does cook ok but so does a $50.00 oven that you could buy at Walmart. For the price of this oven, I should be satisfied but not so. I'm very dissapointed and hope you don't make the same mistake that I did.

2.0 out of 5 stars CRAP!, March 13, 2011
By
This microwave worked really well up until today. It was purchased mid-November 2009, and now it's having issues. When I start it, the heating element works and when it cycles off for a second or two, it doesn't turn back on. The microwave continues running, but it's not heating anything. Great! Thankfully, I bought an extended warranty through SquareTrade and I hope the experience with them is good so I can hurry up and buy another one. Ridiculous this is even happening. It's not like the microwave is heavily used -- use it on average once, maybe twice a day, but rarely more than that.

1.0 out of 5 stars LG = Junk, February 28, 2010
Well really it stands for Lucky Goldstar and their products are still the same junk that they first started with. Well that's what the Warranty Repair Guy said. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING LG!!!! As per the people that have to fix them.
