I bought this microwave after redoing my apartment last summer..I bought a LG fridge and fell in LOVE with this appliance AND company!!...so I decided to go with this microwave....in ANY appliance there is always ONE " bad egg" and maybe the last customer got that one...sorry but the same one I got, I tripled checked on Consumer Reports and they also gave it a recommended rating....well I use it everyday and it's STELLAR!..I'm about to buy another for my niece & nephew's birthday gift.

I bought this product in 2007, kept the receipt and manual. Well it stopped working because the magnetron broke. The manual says the magnetron is warranted for 10 years so I called LG. I got the run around and was finally told that I had to take it to one of their authorized service centers and pay for the work. I said that I could fix it, the part is all I needed and the part was verified by them to be the problem. They replied that they would not send me the part and I had to take it to their authorized service center. So I got the phone number from them and was told that they would have to come out to my home to verify the problem, get the parts and then fix it in my home the final price would be about $230.00, this is for same microwave advertised here for $166.00. Some warrantee LGs got. Needless to say this is the last LG product I will ever buy. If you don't stand behind your products don't put it in the manual that you do! When times get hard you really find out who the good manufacturors are.

Upon initial purchase I loved it. It was huge, beautiful and lots of settings. However, product lasted less than 1 week before it died !

My husband bought this to replace one that died. He bought it because it was the biggest one that would still fit in the upper cabinet space that we had at the time. But what he didn't take into consideration was the depth front to back---it's HUGE! Please make sure you check all measurements before you buy. We no longer have the upper cabinet so this is sitting on the counter and it's really too big for our needs. That said, it works perfectly well and is easy to clean. I love the stainless steel case--doesn't show every speck of crud the way a white one does.

Our Lg microwave died after two years. Same problem with magnatron going bad. I think that a microwave should last more than two years. LG won't do anything after normal 1 year warranty period. As for Consumer reports, I wouldn't rely on their tests very much.
