For the price you could get a cheaper HDTV, and you could get a cheaper monitor...however having the functionality of both is well worth a few extra dollars. This is a fantastic unit overall that I think the average consumer will be very happy with it.

Pros:
-Fantastic remote, really makes the unit feel like a dedicated HDTV when using the unit in TV mode.
-HDTV tuner (interal) seems to be as-good, if not better than the $50 external unit I was previously using to pick up over-the-air DTV. (note that you do still need an antenna)
- Resolution. The built-in drivers for the monitor have 10+ resolution settings, allowing you to custom-tailor the resolution when using the unit as a PC monitor. For example this device up-converts my netbook's resolution to a gorgeous resolution that is about double the resolution of the netbook itself. Was not expecting this!
- An absurd amount of connections.

Cons:
- Viewing angle when using as a TV not great, especially if you are laying on the floor and looking up at the screen.
- Silly extra plastic strip at the bottom of the unit - this just adds bulk and takes away from the sleakness of the unit. Why would they purposefully make the bezel larger?
- Touch sensitive buttons are already inconsistent; they sometimes require a second push and are slow to respond.

Overall I would buy this unit again and I think for the price, the dual-functionality is fantastic. Great for a home office.

Needed a new monitor for my PC, and needed a new TV, this monitor accomplished both at the same time! It's a good size, not too big to take up lots of space, but not so small you can't see from across the room. Some have complained about the sound, but I love it, medium volume works for me. The many inputs are great and gives many options to connections. I tried the coaxial and AV inputs with no noticable difference between them for TV. My PC looks amazing on it, running windows 7 with a 256mb video card. A few of my games had a hard time running at the full resolution (will be solved with a new video card soon). Everything is clear and smooth. For TV I have FiOS in standard definition and up close you can tell it's not very clear, from a distance it's OK. There are ratio levels you can change to zoom, 4:3 or 16:9. I'll be upgrading to HD soon. On my PC I have a few HD episodes of Lost, and they look absolutely amazing. BIG difference between standard and high def.
Easy to use, takes about 10 seconds to turn on, great picture for PC and if you have HD. No complaints.

Yes, I'm a late adopter. This was my very first HDTV of any description, and it doubles as a monitor for my Mac Mini.

Pros: The array of inputs is absolutely staggering: 2 HDMI, DVI (perfect for the Mac), S-Video/Component and RGB. The built-in DTV tuner is fantastic, given the right antenna, and the picture quality is superb. Plus, once you plug in a Mac, you get a handy dialog screen to optimize the resolution and settings. Fantastic.

CON: A huge one, at least for me. There is NO ANALOG AUDIO OUT on this machine. None. Nada. The ONLY audio out provided is a digital optical jack, designed to send a Dolby Digital signal to a Home Theater System. This is wonderful if you want to plug this unit (at 22", on the low end of the market, I'd say) into a HTS. However, I have an old stereo system, which not only doesn't have a digital optical input; it doesn't even accept digital coax. Old-school RCA R+L channel is it. I was SHOCKED not to find RCA analog outputs on the back of this machine, given how many other jacks there were. (Note, it does have RCA R+L *inputs*, if you're plugging in component A/V.)

Now, I have a hybrid setup with a few workarounds: audio from the Mac Mini goes straight into the stereo, bypassing the TV. And audio from my cable box goes straight into the stereo as well. But I get the best pictures on this screen from (believe it or not) uncompressed over-the-air digital broadcasts. And thanks to this staggering design flaw, I'm reduced to getting that audio only from the TV's onboard speakers.

So this leaves me with four options:
1. Buy a $130 powered converter box to turn the digital optical signal into RCA analog. (Not bloody likely; I only paid $227 for the TV itself. I could buy a Blu-Ray/DVD player with Wifi for $130.)

2.

I purchased this TV because I needed a monitor which would allow me to use a computer, hook up a PlayStation3, and in addition connect other game consoles without needing to constantly fiddle with the cables which plug into the back. I have my PS3 hooked up to it through HDMI, I have my computer hooked up to it through DVI, I have a PlayStation2 hooked up to it through component video, and there are still plenty of ports to plug in other game consoles and computers.

I was pleasantly surprised by this TV because it has very vibrant colors. Looking at the colors on this TV made me realize how washed out the colors are with my previous monitor (which is an actual PC monitor with no component video input).

I feel I purchased a winner and a keeper with this TV.
