My teen wanted a phone, but pretty much all he does is text. This phone is perfect for that. The keyboard is easy to use. The graphics are good. The Kajeet service was easy to setup.

You can subscribe to a monthly talk pak, or go pay as you go. The minimum talk pak is about $5 for 10 minutes, but it really just takes care of the daily usage charge. Combine the minimum talk pak with a text pak (text paks don't cover the daily usage fee), and your teen will be set. Even if you subscribe to the minimum talk pak, after you use the 10 minutes, it works just as pay as you go without the daily usage charge. So it makes sense to add a talk pak.

With the wallet feature, you can give your child an allowance in their wallet, but still have money in your wallet. You can choose to pay for calls to/from your phone number(s) to the cell phone from your wallet, so you can always contact them without the need for them to have money in their wallet. And they can always call you. You can schedule automatic refills and monthly subscriptions.

You can schedule usage times for the phone, but add exceptions for specific phone numbers. Another nice feature for parents. Cut off usage at night or during school, but make an exception for your phone number. No texting during the night.

It uses the Sprint Network, so check Sprint's coverage area (Sprint's web site has better coverage maps).

Kajeet rebates are based on auto refill or subscriptions, so keep that in mind when you activate. I should have done a monthly subscription to unlimited texting when I activated.

Our son loves the QWERTY slide out keyboard. WE LOVE THE GPS AND WALLET MANAGER! We have given a budget to him for his cellphone use, and chores too, so the parent/child wallet manager is really effective. No more surprise phone bills, and it so it keeps us both happy. The phone is durable too, and many cool phone covers to choose from on Amazon.com.

I bought this phone for my 11 year old. she loves it because its high tech and loaded with features, best of all I got it for a great price on Amazon.com and saved even more with the rebate.

The phone was purchased for a 10 year old girl and she loves it. We haven't had any problems with the phone and we like the service that Kajeet provides. She is learning to budget her minutes and texts. Hopefully she will be prepared when she does get on our service.

We purchased this for our daughter's b-day. We decided to try Kajeet because we don't have a cell phone plan to add her to. This is the perfect phone for her! With Kajeet's parental controls we can "turn off" the phone during school hours, with the exception that we can still reach her in case of an emergency, or she can reach us. We can also see who is contacting her and give her a budget with the parent/child wallet system. We're very happy with this phone & so is she!!

The LG Rumor phone I received for my daughter's birthday present would not/could not connect to the Internet. Thus, it was not capable of downloading any contact/games. After many many contacts to Kajeet, I was given horrible customer service from their "operations" department. Long story short, it's been 2 months and nothing has been resolved as of yet. I can't believe for such an up and coming company who wants to get things right, got things so horribly wrong with their personnnel!

Had the phone worked properly, I would have given it 5 stars for tween use!!

I bought this phone for my daughter's 12th birthday and she absolutely loves it! It is perfect for texting her friends. We have had no problems with it and Kajeet's text plan is much less expensive than the major carriers. It allows me to set a monthly limit and provides my daughter with experience managing her money. She can't live without her phone so it makes a nice incentive for positive behavior.
