2.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, but doesn't wash the clothes June 23, 2014
By Allan
I bought this washer, locally not online, about 4 months ago after our old maytag gave up. After reading many positive reviews both by other owners and by appliance "experts" I decided this was the one.

First let me start with the good. I love the look of the washer. It really looks like it's stainless steel and the front panel controls give it a really clean look. It has a huge capacity, way more than our older dryer can handle. It is super easy to operate and is really quiet, almost silent. It also spins the clothes really dry. I've read some reviews from people complaining about unbalance errors, UE, but I have only had that happen once and it was with a large bulky comforter so it's a non-issue for me.

Now for what I don't like about it. My biggest complaint with this washer is it doesn't wash the clothes. I mean come on, it's called a washing machine for a reason right? We have people in our household that are out in the dirt and grease daily and their clothes get very dirty. It doesn't matter how much spot treatment or presoaking is done, the clothes don't come out even remotely clean. They are literally just as dirty after they are "washed" as they were when I put them in. Any money that you save from the reduced water and energy usage is more than offset with the cost of spot treatment and new clothes. The wash cycles also seem to be excessively long, especially for the pitiful amount of cleaning that is done. Lastly, and not a big issue, but the tub is very deep and I had to make a step for the ladies so they could reach the bottom.
