I received this a few days ago, and so far it works very well. I haven't used it to the full extent of it's charge, but my computer estimates that it lasts about 2 1/2 to 3 hours on "high performance". It fits perfectly into the battery slot, and looks almost identical to my Dell battery. My last battery was a 6-cell, and this 9-cell is essentially the same thing with a bar across the bottom that raises the laptop up a bit. Once again, everything fits into place perfectly, and the battery looks to be of good quality. I will update my review if there are any changes with the performance of the battery.

My original dell battery lasted for about 2 years. I bought this as a replacement because it was 33% the cost of a Dell OEM replacement. The company is based in Fremont, CA, the battery is probably made overseas. So far, this battery works well. It holds a charge that lasts 3.5 to 5 hours, depending on how it is used. They provide a set of instructions on breaking in the battery to the computer. This involves charging and discharging the battery three times. The battery changes the shape of the computer. My original 6 cell battery allowed the computer to lay flat on a table. This battery has an extra appendage that raises the "hinge side" of the laptop up about a half inch on a flat table. This actually makes it more comfortable for me to type, and thus is not a problem. But buyers should be aware of this change to the computer geometry. I have had this battery for only week, so I cannot speak to longevity yet. If I am disappointed with the longevity, I'll return to update this review. However, currently I am happy that I chose this battery.

Update February 28, 2011: So its been a year of use with this battery and I have been happy with the performance. The longevity has degraded as expected. On a full charge it says that it will run for 2 hours and 59 minutes. My experience has been that it will last somewhere between 2.5 to 3 hours of real performance.

The seller was great. They shipped very quickly and packaging was fine. They were also very responsive to email. I am sure they are selling the same battery you can get from Dell for 3 times as much but the bottom line is that in less than 6 months, the battery does not hold a charge. That is very disappointing

AFter much research and checking of reviews, my son chose this battery to replace his original Dell battery. We are very pleased!!! Price was good, shipping time was fast and most important of all--it HOLDS a charge longer and works perfectly. Other reivews mentioned the size of the battery caused their screens to be at an awkward angle--my son has not had problems with that.

After almost exactly a year my XPS M1530 battery would not hold a charge more than a half hour so I ordered this item from Amazon and it works great, I now get about 3 hours before I have to plug it back in.

This is a good replacement for the original Dell battery. I was a bit unsure if I should buy a non-Dell battery, but this one works fine, fits my XPS M1530 without any problem. The only reason I am not giving it a 5-star rating is that I have been using it only for a couple of weeks and not sure if there are problems that are yet undetected.

My Dell 6 cell and 9 cell batteries died within 24 hours of each other. Neither would take a charge. They were 1.5 years old and not overly used. I thought it might be my adapter but it wasn't. I ordered the Dekcell 9 cell battery. It arrived in 2 days with standard shipping. I charged it overnight as suggested. It lasted 3 hours with the WiFi radio on and full screen brightness. That's comparable to my original Dell. I don't see any reason to spend a lot of money for the Dell especially since they didn't last long. It fit properly and has a charge level indicator. I only gave this battery 4 stars since I don't know how long it will last. Edit--- battery just died. Won't charge. Lasted about 6 months. Was only lasting about 2 hours last two months. Customer service answered their phone right away and sent an RMA form by email. Battery is being replaced under warrantee. I am also going to buy another so I don't get caught without. Still cheaper than Dell.

The battery has worked fine for exactly 2 years and 1 day and now my computer is advising me to get a new one after about a month and a half of decline in the length of power from one charge. Overall, 2 years of life for $30 seems to be a pretty good deal to me. We followed the written instruction, which is standard for all new Li-ion and nickel type batteries. It does not have as much run time as expected on her machine being a 7200mAh versus the 5600mAh that it had originally. So far everything is well and we are happy with the cheaper purchase then replacing a "dell" logo battery that is still made in China. The only thing I did not notice when picking it out for her was the 15-20mm foot extension across the back of the battery; this is no reason not to get the battery but please note that if you prefer the laptop in your lap you may dislike the 'bigger' battery (she didn't like it at first, but has adjusted).

I bought this item last week, i charged it up and it didnt last me more than 2.5 hours. Turns out the battery was used before i got it. It only had 80% capacity when i got it. Not only that but i looked into the specs on the battery and they shipped me a 6600mAh battery not the 7200 they said it was. Im very disappointed in this product
