Very impressed as always with the service from Amazon. Good prices and excellent delivery times. Lions Clubs in the 21st Century (Hardcover)is of great interest as it tells the story of one of the biggest Service Organisation in the world. So many people do not realise how much work Internationaland UK Lions Clubs do. How much money has been spent on improving eye sight throughout the world. Lions first introduced the use of the 'white stick' for the blind. The involvemnt with Helen Keller and her challenge to the Lions organisation. Millions of people in the world have been helped by Lions in various ways, from helping a school clear up their gardens, providing help and money to disabled people. Giving joy to small groups by helping them achieve a dream. Money to local Scouts, hospitals, small cricket clubs. Encouraging the young to be involved in caring about their Community. It is well worth reading and opening your eyes to an organisation that quietly works in the background. An excelllent read. |
