Don't buy a thing from this company! It didn't work And it was Used! It was either returned by someone else or a poor attempt to refurbish the Drive Replacement. It was advertised as New. I wouldn't trust this company to buy socks from. Buyer Beware.

This device did not work, it's used and slightly damaged in the back. I am trying to find out how I can get a refund or at least a replacement.

I was not expecting a brand new drive.
This drive had parts literally falling off it
as I opened the drive tray. To make matters worse
it was a 225 which is by default locked requiring
yet more parts. I am not even sure the laser is any
good on this. I bought this as a replacement drive
but it was complete junk.

Nothing to see here move along people....

Bottom line up front: the seller lied and rather than a new drive for your XBox360, you're paying for a used one which was poorly refurbed at some point. That's ok-ish because you don't need the circuit board anyway--you've done your homework and you're going to pull it out and replace with the one from your old failed drive...right? (Disregard my comments if you're doing a software flash and expect plug and play reliability. In that case, steer clear. Your drive might be OK, but my solder joints were bad.)

That said, I hate being lied to. Seller is intentionally misleading--this condition is no accident. Drive is sold as new with anti-tamper stickers on the case. It's specifically targeted at home Xbox repair, where buyers will open it up. Upon opening the case (making it non-returnable I'm sure), there's dust inside the drive. Worse, the PCB was apparently soldered by my 9-year old or a monkey on meth (not necessarily mutually exclusive). See photos of the globs of solder & burned wires.

Thankfully, I didn't need that ratty PCB anyway, though clean wires would have been nice. Mechanically, the drive seems to be sound and has worked for the past few hours as my kids play their games on DVD. However, I paid for new, not poorly refurbed. Again, I hate being lied to.

Turned my 360 from an online only machine to being able to play games again! remember that you will need a soldering iron and have to use your original motherboard from the old dvd drive or you will not be able to play games once you get everything back together.

First, let me say that I deal with refurb parts all the time. They are generally fine, and I don't mind them as long as I know that is what I am buying. This add clearly states NEW, and this item was NOT new. It was fairly scratched up, had a bit of rust in one area, had a QC seal that was torn and replaced with another QC seal that was ALSO torn. The manufacturing date was 2010.

All that said, after swapping out the board it does work, although slightly loader than the broken drive it replaced.

Sooooo, as long as you are ok with a refurb, this is a good choice.

***EDIT 11/23/2014***
This drive did not even last 2 months before failing. Pretty sad.
