This review is from: LITE-ON eZAU422 22x DVD - Double-layer - DVD-RAM/±R/±RW - 22x 8x 16x (DVD) - 48x 24x 48x (CD) - USB - External - Black - Retail (Electronics)
I picked this up after my LG DVD burner went kaput. I don't consider myself highly experienced on burners, but I recall that on my old HP CD burner, and the LG, about one out of five discs burned went into the garbage as failed attempts. This LiteOn burner has only failed me once in probably 50+ burns. I haven't tried the lightscribe option, as I've no need for such extravagance, but the burner is reasonably fast and reliable. It's noisy, though--noisier than my old burners, and it's a bit chubbier, too, in size. For what I paid, however, I'm satisfied. The drive comes with bloated Nero software that caused me real headaches when it failed to uninstall properly, so be warned. You don't need the software to burn data, anyway. Bottom line: good hardware, but lousy Nero software.
