My son LOVES to play with it. He is under the recommended age (which is why he can't hit it hard enough to make them pop through the bottom, lol) but he loves banging on it, or watch me pop the balls through the bottom!

Definitely well worth $6 - a great and sturdy toy!

(I gave 5 stars for educational, since it doesn't really apply, as this wasn't MEANT to be a very "educational" toy.)

Some of the balls are too small and roll through the hole before you can hit them with the hammer

I really liked this to for my son he loves balls and it has taught hime how to place balls into the holes. It is a great toy.

My daughter is 7 MO at this point and under the recommended age, but she has fun pressing the balls through and seeing them pop out the bottom. She'll then 'taste' the ball, and when done she'll pass it to our kitten who will then play with it around the room. Kitten looses the ball, the baby will 'pop' out another, repeat.

My MAIN beef with this product is that it's advertised as wooden, but most of it is plastic. The mallet is wooden and WONDERFULLY sturdy. As is the 'base' of the box. However the balls and the top of the bench are plastic, which was somewhat of a disappointment. On the PLUS side, that makes the balls a lot less painful when thrown on your foot by an overenthusiastic baby.

Got this toy for my developmentally delayed son and he gets aggressive at times out of frustration, so this toy is a great item to direct that anger towards as he hammers the balls till he calms down and all is right in his world again!! This is a VERY durable toy and great for young kids learning the cause and effect concepts. I really love this toy and the price is great!!

I recently purchased this toy for my son's first birthday and he loved it from the start. Once we showed him what to do with the hammer, he had it all figured out. He loved to make the balls disappear and then watch them come out the hole. The noise that he made while hammering made this toy even better to him! It is one of his favorites.

My 16 month old loved this toy when he got it! Of course now its in the toy bin with all the other toys, but he really liked it and it was worth the money, which was a deal! I definitely recommend this one if you have a child that likes to hit things!
