Upon exploring my personal faith, I have recently come to the conclusion that I have a mixture of Western and Eastern influences. Put more clearly: I am Christian in faith and belief, infused with a distinctly Bhuddist flavor. While I don't think this is a necessarily unique position, I hadn't quite read anything to this point that captured how I feel.

Stuart's book does this for me, although my philosophy tilts a little more Western, while his feels as if it tilts a little more Eastern. When he speaks of getting in tune with the God that we are each a part of, I translate it to being in communion with the Spirit who dwells in each of us. Perhaps this is a big differance, or perhaps with our limited understanding, this is little more than arguing semantics. None the less I found the book to be a great resource.

Stuart's main goal is to get the reader to concentrate on being in the present. I have realized recenly that I not only struggle with this (as we all do), but it is also one of the things that I desire most. Before reading this book, as part of overcoming depression I had added mindfulness to my toolkit. This book offers concise advice on how to achieve an awareness of the present. I will keep it handy as it has good insights both in its separate parts as in its entirety.

Perhaps my rating is skewed because of my agreement of Stuart's views, I don't know. It did feel as though he didn't give you all the "answers", but rather showed you how to find them. Maybe that is why I found the book so valuable.

In this book, Mr. Stuart offers practical and provocative advice for one on a spiritual journey. It matters not where you are along the path or how much you know or have experienced, this book will bring new and thoughtful insights for you to consider. It is clear that Mr. Stuart speaks from his personal experiences and understandings, which serve as great guidance for me and hopefully any who read this book. I highly recommend this publication and can't wait to purchase the paperback when it is available!

Sullins understands that the greatest gift we can give ourselves and others is to be completely present and accepting in this moment. Years ago, in the midst of family crisis, a nun at MD Anderson told me that the greatest gift she'd found that she could give was to be present with another and to allow them to be exactly where they are, even in the throes of physical or emotional agony, because we all need presence in right now. Living in Conscious Harmony offers a pleasantly readable course in getting there, departing from the automatic pilot we often get caught up in; it helped clarify ways for me to increase intention and awareness, and I strongly recommend it!!

This book is written in very clear, direct and understandable language. If you are looking for good direction in how to develop your spiritual life, this book is a great choice. I especially liked Part III, the question and answer section.

I just finished reading Sullins Stuart book "Living in Conscious Harmony: A Spiritual Guide To Being In The Now." I would like to recommend it to anyone who is seeking to be present in the Eternal Now, and being at One with all of life. His book comes to a lot of the same conclusions about our Oneness, as mine does. He does this is a different way though, by showing how to be present in the moment: moment by moment.

I would like to share a passage I liked real well from his book on page 174 and 175.

"It is possible to raise another's level of consciousness by being present with them. This is the most profound impact you can have on another person. While positive and negative energy changes one's state of mind, the state of presence awakens the soul. When you are present, you are unconditional Love. Through the power of Love, you can affect another's level of consciousness. You can be the conduit that assists in bringing them into the Now. Unconditional Love is the greatest force that exists - it is God.

Through personal experience, I believe this to be true. You truly never know what effect you can and will have on others. So as lightworkers, as all of you are, please continue to shine your light and love by being present to others. You are needed at this time in human history. Have a blessed day.

I give Sullins Stuart's Living in Conscious Harmony my highest recommendation. Sullins clearly and succinctly describes the four levels of consciousness which sets the basis for the book's foundation. In equal clearness, he then details five ways to live in the now. These points are good not only for the novice seeker but also for the more advanced student. I place myself in the former category and found each step manageable, well layed out and inspiring.

His chapters on the power of thought, generatational recurrence, fear, and the negative aspects of the Ego were excellent and motivating. I was less inspired on the chapters on creativity, death and heaven and hell, but they were well written nonetheless and enlightening. His question and answer sections were well worth the price of the book and I considered them more a bonus. Living in Conscious Harmony rates as one of my favorite reads of the year.
