LJ Hutchen Silver C Flute with Hardshell Case

Daughter has had the flute for 3 weeks and complains everyday about the sound. The spring for the trill keys are the problem, according to our local horn shop;but they will not even touch it. Now we will have to deal with the headache of trying to get it fixed on the warranty or returning it.

REVISION: Just got off the phone with Hyson Musical Instruments - They are apologetic about this flute and are sending a new one to switch with. They are surprised it happened but stand behind their sales & service.

Was going to bump up the star rating but it doesn't change in the edit mode! (Amazon can we fix that)

2nd Revision: They sent me a new one and I sent the other one back.
Just got off the phone again with Hyson Musical Instruments - They are very apologetic about this flute: They were calling to insure me that they received the flute and all charges were taken care of. They really want to make sure my daughter was happy with the sound and that if anything should arise to please contact them. They made this exchange as easy as possible and their follow up has been impeccable.

I purchased from LJ Hutchen the C Silver Flute, to my greatest surprise it arrived the very next day I couldn't believe it, they deliver quite fast but most important, the flute is so beautiful, solid and sounds magnificent, I have been looking for a good instrument for sometime, and since flutes can be quite expensive I was thinking about buying a good used one. I read a lot before making a decision, getting a new inexpensive one was out of the question since it seemed, they all have the same problems like keys getting stuck or falling apart: loose keys. I highly recommend getting this brand, for few more dollars you get a brand new quality instrument which has a warranty of two years that is how certain they are about what they make. It comes ready to play, tuned. I am so happy with it and you will be too. I am truly thankful to them for making such gorgeous instruments and to the customers who take the time to give their opinion which at the end is the most valuable one. Customer service is excellent as well. They deserve 10 stars.

I'm a 54 year old pianist that decided last year to take up the flute as a second instrument. Not being certain if I would really be interested in the long run, I did some research and decided on the LJ Hutchen as my first flute. I've had the flute a little over a year now and I'm very pleased. Not one problem and until recently I played this flute almost every day. The instrument was correctly regulated on receipt, all posts are mounted on ribs, the key action is still perfect, the pads are still in great shape and the finish is like new. I can't comment on repairs / adjustments because it hasn't needed any.

I recently bought a Pearl 795RBE Coda for my move to an open hole flute. Considering that Pearl was 14+ times more expense than the LJ, the LJ holds up well in comparison. Highly recommended.

My daughter's private teacher recommended this flute for her and she loves it. Her teacher said it was a great deal and that it would be perfect for her. The price is great and we are very happy with this instument.

This was our gift to Kelsey for her 10th birthday, and I must say, it's the best of the best. Beautifully packaged, excellent tone, superior service, and all for several hundred less than the "school music instrument" programs! The service was fantastic. And should the occassion come around again (with 5 grand-daughters) we'll head straight back to this site!!! Can't ask for more than this company has offered. Five star all the way....... And yes.....I was a flute player for years...and this piece of equipment is excellent for that elementary/jr high player!!!

This flute was recomended by the group that gives band lessons at my daughter's school. She's in her 5th year of flute lessons, and my only regret is that I didn't buy the flute sooner! It's a beautiful instrument that looks as good today as it did the day we got it (18 months ago). It sounds great, and comes with a durable case which is nicely lined. I highly recommend this product, and am equally satisfied with another LJ Hutchen Saxophone I also purchased from Hyson. Great products, and a great seller!

I got this flute to have as a back-up flute and also so that I do not have to take my really nice flute when I play outside or in less than favorable conditions. This was a great choice. This flute plays beautifully and is scaled really well so it does not go in and out of tuning as you go up or down the range. Obviously it is harder to get all the tone colors on this flute than it is on my main instrument, but it still can do it which is impressive for a flute in this price range. I would recommend it for anyone just starting out or who needs a good reliable back-up and does not have the money to have a second professional style flute.

I know nothing about flutes or musical instruments however I do know about customer service and Hyson Musical Instruments was the greatest. I have never been personally called or emailed by any other vendor on Amazon to tell me the product I had just ordered may not be available for several weeks. After speaking with Jesse at Hyson a couple of times he rearranged things so I could get this flute in a few days so my 9 yr old son could start his lessons on time.

When the instrument arrived it was in perfect condition and arrived in just a week, several weeks earlier than anticipated. My son was in heaven.

I usually don't write reviews however I am highly recommending this product because of Hyson Musical Instruments. They are all about the customer service and are concerned about good high quality instruments.

We purchased this instrument for my son for his school band class. While we haven't received the flute yet, the customer service at this company is so great that I had to write a review of it. We needed the instrument quickly, but the only option was 3-5 day ground shipment on the order page. I sent them an email through Amazon to ask if they could expedite the shipping. Even though the instrument was already labeled for ground shipment, their shipping guy stayed late to change the shipping method so we would get the flute this week instead of next. He went out of his way to make it work for us. A very rare, but very refreshing attitude these days. With this kind of customer service, I am sure we will be delighted with our purchase when it arrives!

I wanted to suprise my daughter for her 16th birthday and was thinking what to do. I knew I wanted to get her a flute, but wasn't sure where, and I was amazed at the great deal offered! The quality is just as great as those more expensive flutes.

She loves her new flute and I loved the great customer service that Jesse provided when I was calling with questions. The hand written note of thanks and enjoy from the company which was attached with the flute in the package made the experience that much more enjoyable :) I definitely reccomend buying this flute!
