hi,
what can I say about Basshuter? well, I know his music is such a club hit here in Europe(specially in the scandinavian countries), I never go to a club without hearing the Boten anna song! and the album LOL <(^^,)> is one of the best dance albums of 2006, I recommend the new edition (red cover)which include bonus tracks, and the song jingle bells (Basshunter style) the normal (blue) edition is great too!!! is very hard to find it here in Europe for less than 19.90 Euros, so if you find it on sale for about 30 dollars, I think you are getting a great deal !!! Get it. if you like Dance music, you wont regret! (^^)

Basshunter went straight to #1 on my top-ten list after listening to LOL! Each song is absolutely amazing, the kind of mix between hard beats, catchy melodies, and smooth vocals that you can only find in Europe, the birthplace of dance music. You don't have to know Swedish to love this album, it sounds incredible no matter what language you speak. Buy this album so that we can weed out all those one-hit wonders! I give every song on LOL 5 stars, but my personal favorites are "Var ar jag", "Utan Stjanorna", "Patrik och Lillen", "Boten Anna", and "DotA (Extended Version)".

Swedish techno!!,

This CD is great! In addition to the singles, I love "Sverige." It's an interesting take on the Swedish national anthem. Basshunter is also a good musician; he throws in some really fun changes in his songs. It's a neat CD, especially when compared to other techno styles.

w00t for bored computer geeks,

This is a great CD for those who like techno, or just enjoy the fact that the first track on the CD is about playing Defense of the Ancients for Warcraft 3 while talking on a vent server called Ventrilo and beating all of their opponents. Squee for random geek references!!!!

The most pleasant surprise of 2006,
This review is from: LOL (Audio CD)
It seems that every day I grow to thank my friend for his taste in music more and more. Because he's a huge WoW geek and loves to troll the internet for things such as this, he found the video for DotA on youtube not too long after I had gotten him into the game itself (WoW that is). He showed me the video as a joke, and I was hooked.
I took this opportunity to immediately find as much music by Basshunter (Jonas Altberg) as I possibly could. Seeing as how this is his only album release, this was as far as I could go. I found that I would listen to this album on a day to day basis just as I was going about my routine, it was so easy to listen to and so catchy! Aside from the poppy-catchy aspect, there's a bunch of really neat lyrics for those that can appreciate nerdier things in life. The language barrier really doesn't matter, especially in this type of music. Songs like "Boten Anna" "Mellan Oss Tvaa" and "Utan Stjaernorna" can be appreciated by most anyone I think. In conclusion, I've shown the Dota Video to many of my friends, and even though most of them don't really know what to make of the man himself, why he makes songs about computer games, they all admit the music itself is good, I think a solid purchase for anyone to pick up.

I've only been listening to techno recently and came across a number of Basshunter songs. For the most part I love them and this album is great. Realize this particular version of LOL is the true swedish import. There are no english lyrics (although on occasion an english phrase may appear). If you want to actually sing along, get an english version that has it all remixed. I listen to this at work and cannot have stuff playing that will distract me by making me sing in my head. I really like this music for running in the background at my office.

AMAZING!,

A friend let me borrow this CD recently that he got it while touring Europe, and it's incredible! Definitely the best club CD ever. My friend also said that the CD has been in his Car CD player for over 3 months and hasn't left it. It's worth getting.

I live in the states, I don't even really listen to techno, but this guy is incredible! I discovered him last night, and I have not stopped listening to it. Each and every track is original, great to dance to, or simply to listen to while doing something else.

Jonas Altberg is, as a fact, the best musician in the world. There is not a single artist that I would refer to a friend that could fulfill their wildest, off the beaten path, dreams other than him. A friend introduced me to DotA over a year ago (the short version) and I listened to it non-stop for about a week, until I found all of his other songs, that is. I even stole the Zune that it was on so that I could memorize the foreign language!
Since then, I have managed to find a great majority of his songs, and learned quite a bit of Swedish (even got my mom to buy me the Rosetta Stone V2 Swedish Level 1 Personal Edition so that I could delve deeper into the language). I can sing to his songs now, and every time I hear one, I can name it and sing a chorus (or hum the beat) along with it. I am quite surprised that someone living a so far away can bring such joy into my life. His music is addicting, and I love it because of that. HIGHLY recommended... .. that means buy it now. (btw, his bass = awesome, so you better have a good stereo) |
