5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Fun and Energy, March 6, 2009

Swaggering great electronica, trance, dance, whatever. No pretense, just fun. Break out the glow-sticks, Russian Imperial Stout, and neon clogs. Altberg has a great voice, thankfully squeakless; he's a talented electronica composer who should be better known in this country. No whining here, just celebration.

"I'm Your Bass Creator" is hyperactivity at its best, with a melodic point that sounds like dancing under the Northern Lights in subzero temps while pumped with adrenalin and icy vodka. "DotA Clubmix" and "Russia Privjet" stand out. I speak enough Russian to enjoy the Swedish accent. On several tracks, the Swedish adds hefty Viking bounce. "Throw Your Hands Up" is one of the best totally hyper tracks ever - if Jean Reno playing a thug, or the Penguins of Madagascar could choose music for their nefarious deeds, this would be it. No one could stand still with this electric stimulation.

This CD does not pretend to be anything else but total hyper fun. Although there are several slow miss-fires, like the horrible "Jingle Bells," the raucious and playful tempo has uninhibited energy and thus is great to pump iron to when I get tired of working out to ACDC or Sisters of Mercy. The Icelandic Snorri Sturluson sagas lurk within the upbeat, thrusting bass and drums. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic., February 8, 2009
This review is from: LOL (MP3 Download)
I originally only bought the song "DotA" out of random interest on iTunes, and it was a fun song. The lyrics were hilarious (look them up if you don't believe me) and the song appealed to my inner techno enthusiast. After finding more songs of theirs on Pandora, I bought LOL, became completely and entirely hooked, and bought the album "Now You're Gone". On LOL, the lyrics are mostly in Swedish, and this is good if you need to do something while listening. The lyrics are really funny for most of the songs and this is something else that got me hooked. I mean, who else can make a song about a robot in an IRC channel (Boten Anna) that B-A?

The only thing I hate is how many variations on the song "Now You're Gone" there are. That song is OK once, but repeated is a bit excessive. Other than that, a kick-butt album!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Electronica Collection of the Year, December 11, 2008

This album features the songs that any fan of Basshunter can't get enough of. With bewitching beats and smooth Swedish lyrics, Basshunter outdoes himself with Boten Anna and DotA. These two songs alone are enough to listen to the album, but as many fans will testify, the rest are just as golden. In short, LOL <(^^,)> is much better than the pop trash we're forced to deal with in America.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most AWESOME Cds I've ever gotten!, August 27, 2011

I love this album. It was not a first pick for me when I decided to get some Basshunter stuff, but I'm glad I got it.

While it includes remixes of the same song, these remixes are worthwhile and the great majority of the collection are unique songs.
I love a lot of the tracks. Some I wasn't sure about at first, but after a second listening I was convinced.
One of the best CDs I've gotten.

If you are thinking about getting a basshunter cd, and cant decide. Get this one. It has all of his great ones, ones you will then include in "the great ones" and even a few good remixes.

Not saying there are some tracks that I always skip,(only the now you're gone remix really), but this is better than any of his American releases.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS WHAT A DANCE ALBUM IS MEANT TO BE!!, September 28, 2009
This review is from: LOL <(^^,)> (Audio CD)

First I would like to start off by saying that I cannot, in words, fully convey the greatness of this album, it is one of those rare albums that comes onto the scene in a great while that is perfection. That one album that is actually full of good songs instead of just one or two good singles.
Featuring a variety of beats this album is Basshunter's masterpiece. Songs like DotA, Russian Privjet, Boten Anna, Now You're Gone, and Patrik and the Small Guy just can't be listened to without dancing. Not only are they fast, very energetic and just generally upbeat, but they put the listener in a completely different mood. They just have that power. But other songs, more relaxed, are just fantastic songs to listen to and are very well composed, such as Without Stars, GPS, and Hello There.
The club remixes on this album are also actually really good, which came as a surprise to me considering most club mixes I've heard have just been a butchered regurgitation of their otherwise perfect original. But in LOL it's not the case. It is just a complete all-around fantastic album. I highly recommend this album to ANYONE who loves dance music and I strongly recommend this album to anyone who is getting into techno and dance music and doesn't know where to start. This is what a dance album is supposed to be.

3.0 out of 5 stars Half Good, October 9, 2009
By
This review is from: LOL <(^^,)> (Audio CD)
I got into Basshunter after stumbling across a music video for "DOTA". I liked the song so I decided to hunt down more of his music. I started with this CD as it had "DOTA" on it. I later found out a lot of CDs have "DOTA" on it in many different forms. All of which are different from the music video version that I still like the best.

Anyways I like about half the songs on this CD. It dies for me about halfway through. The version I have has a slightly different track listing then this one.

Songs I like: DOTA, Boten Anna, I'm Your Basscreator, Russia Privjet, and Professional Party People.

The rest I can do without. Some of the songs are super cheesy. "We Are The Waccos" hardly makes any sense at all, then again neither does a lot of the songs. "Throw Your Hands Up" is entertaining to me only because I find it funny. The rest I don't have much to say about.

All in all it's a good techno album, at least for what I like. Makes good background music.
