5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites.., August 19, 2004

This review is from: LOTR Return of the King Faramir Action Figure (Toy)
This Faramir figure from the ROTK line is one of my favorites from the line. Also, if you came in late, this is probably the only Faramir figure you'll be able to get without spending a lot of money. (The Two Towers Faramir figure is extremely rare, and goes for up to $50 on ebay.)

Faramir's face sculpt is pretty good. Its not a dead-on likeness, but at least he isn't yelling or anything. (Like the Pellenor Fields Aragorn, or TTT Eomer.)

His body is great. He is clothed in his Gondorian armor, and it is nicely detailed, with the White Tree of Gondor on his chest.

He comes with only his sword. However, I could not get the sword from his hand. It is intended to be removable, but it is stuck in too tight. (Or at least mine was.)

Hope my review helped. It is a great figure and definitely worth adding to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A chance for Faramir, Prince of Gondor, to show toy quality, August 17, 2004

This review is from: LOTR Return of the King Faramir Action Figure (Toy)
The Prince of Ithilien, the son of the Steward of Gondor, and the younger brother of Boromir, Faramir was originally charged with the defense of Gondor's outlying protective city of Osgiliath. When Sauron unleashed the beginning of his massive assault on Gondor, Faramir's already-scant defenses were quickly overwhelmed, and fell back to Minas Tirith. In a moment of insanity and coldness, Denethor sent his son back to the city on a suicide mission to retake it. Faramir put aside his forest-colored garments of a hunter in Ithilien, and donned the armor of the White City for his doomed undertaking.

Faramir has a noble expression on his face (I'm curious how they decide who has mouth-open action facial poses like Gandalf and Eomer, and who has noble expressions like Frodo and Faramir), and is of course gift in the simple yet regal armor of Gondor. The White Tree is emblazoned across his breastplate, but his little-known double swans emblem is carved into his feet and wrist guards. His armor is trimmed underneath with green, and his sword hangs securely at his side. The sword isn't that different from the original figure, but I thought the original was good to begin with.

He stands well on his own, and he just looks good. His arm(s) feature a unique double swivel, or at least the left one. Of course, there's a huge sword-attack button protruding from his back, as big as Theoden in Armor. He comes with his helmet as well, which is actually flexible, contrasting to most of the others, and fits his face so closely that it doesn't make it look like David Wenham in the movie with his helmet on...it hugs is face too close.

The helmet would be the only negative feature I could find on this figure, and I highly suggest you purchase this for your collection. It'll make a great companion for the Boromir in armor releasing soon!

I just received this Faramir action figure in the mail today and I am extremely happy with it!! The armor is very detailed and the face is very well sculpted (lots of resemblance to David Wenham, especially in his nose!) This is a great addition to my collection and I would recommend this figure to all Lord of the Rings fans!

I got Boromir when he first came out, in the two pack with lurtz. so when I herd from my friend ( who got regular faramir)I went on a quest to find him,so I could have the Brothers of Gondor, but my quest was unsucessful my friend said that it was a good thing I never found Faramir because he said he was poorly made and broke easily ( that might have been because he threw him up in the air and couldnt catch him.)Well when I was at wal mart the other day I found him, Faramir in armor, I had to get him and I did. I must say he is made better than some of the other LotR toys. He comes with a removeable sword, a removeable helmet, and sword slashing action. He also has 34 moveable joints. He is dressed in Gondorian armour,he has the white tree on his breastplate and other weird markings.I gave it five stars in all catigories because you can paly with him for hours he wont break and he shows what knightes dressed like back then. I cant wait to find Boromir in armour to add to my collection! Thank you for reading my long review I hope it helped.
