Juniper is a shrub that grows wild in the Provencal hillsides. When distilled, its wood yields a precious oil that was traditionally used by shepherds for its antiseptic, healing properties.
L'OCCITANE has developed a patented complex with a base of Cade - wild juniper - essential oil in response to the specific needs of men's skin:

This has to be my favorite personal care product that I have ever purchased. It goes on as smooth as butter, doesn't leave a greasy residue and calms and relaxes my face. The smell of it is also wonderful and it lasts and lasts. If I shave at 7am, I can still smell it at lunch time, which is great because I love the smell so much. Most after shaves I have only lasts maybe an hour at the most. You will not regret this.

I have bought this for my husband for the last two years. I love the smell. I was surprised to see the bad reviews on the scent because it is outdoorsy (juniper)but not too strong. My husband likes the smoothness of this balm. I definetly recommend it.

I'm a bit of a shave geek and have tried many of the balms on the market. I love the Art of Shaving products, but the L'Occitane balm his head and shoulders above anything I've used. It seems a bit expensive at first blush, but it only takes a dab to cover your face and neck. It is very soothing to your skin after shaving at it smells GREAT.
