5.0 out of 5 stars Texas weather, July 12, 2009
This review is from: L'Occitane Soin Capillaire Ultra Riche, Beurre de Karitè (Ultra Rich Hair Cream), 5.2-Ounce Tin (Misc.)
Texas weather can leave your hair dry and frizzy a little dab of the Ultra Rich Hair Cream and your hair is back; shiney and full, no frizzy or static, with a pleasant fresh scent that is not overpowering but a soft undertone that goes with everything.
This product as with most L'Occitane product you use ~ 1/4 to 1/2 the amount you would use of a less expensive equivalent product. Also you use it when needed rather than daily. Even with my elbow lenght hair you just need a small amount of the cream. The tin keeps the produce moist and allows you to use every bit. My last order of this product was well over a year ago. The product was just as creamy at the end as it was when I purchased it.

5.0 out of 5 stars WORKS AND SMELLS GOOD, August 14, 2010

This review is from: L'Occitane Soin Capillaire Ultra Riche, Beurre de Karitè (Ultra Rich Hair Cream), 5.2-Ounce Tin (Misc.)
I (male) regularly work outside in our lawn and garden. I prefer to shampoo and wash the pollen and dirt out even if I have to do this daily. I know it's not good to shampoo often since it gets rid of the natural oils from our scalp (sebum). My long, thin, straight hair (in ponytail) gets pretty dry and is hard to manage. I wanted to keep my hair 'moistened' after I towel dried and brushed with horse hair. I refuse to put any synthetic or unnatural stuff in my hair fearing it would damage it further. I saw this brand on a previous trip to Southern France and when I read it was pure natural Shea Butter, I tried it. Just a dab on a finger tip spread out while my hair was damp did the trick. Kept my hair smooth and manageable all day.
Also its fragrance is NOT OVERWHELMING for men. Finally, if you google shea butter, you'll learn how this thing is produced in Africa in poor villages. It's nice to know that you're helping good people a little bit when you buy this product.

Honestly I was surprised because I had tried a sample of the L'Occitane shea butter shampoo and conditioner and I was amazed at how soft and manageable my hair was. So, I figure that the Ultra Rich Hair Mask would be better, but not so much. My hair is long, thick, naturally curly/tending toward frizzy. It seems to help the texture when I want to straighten my hair, but doesn't help much on the days that I want to leave it curly. I'll buy the shampoo/conditioner shea butter duo next time instead.
