Yep, it's better than the shaving soaps I sell in my barber shop, but then I only charge $3 for mine, and I paid $16 for theirs. Theirs has a richer, creamier texture, and a light fragrance that doesn't affect its performance.
I tell my customers about L'Occitane shaving soap and where to get it. I'd sell it myself if we could work a retail deal. Nevertheless, it's a nice treat from time to time to use the really good stuff, and I recommend it to all my regular barbershop customers.

IMHO, it really is worth 5 times the price of the other stuff.

Creates a lots of lather with little water, feels great on skin, lubricates well for smooth razer action. Pleasant and subtle smell.

I purchased the L'Occitane Savon a Barbe, 3.5 ounce men's shaving soap refill along with a few other brands, to compare with the Col. Conk's amber shave soap (3.75 ounce), which i've been using. I found it to have a wonderful scent and it lathers great. It's a little larger in diameter than the others, so it doesn't fit standard shave mugs. This is becoming my favorite shave soap.
