All you have to buy is the developer to mix with it.

When I went back and looked at the item again, I realized that I had mistakenly thought I would receive the complete package based on the picture of the box.

I definitely plan to keep this color for quite a while, as it is very unique and I'm constantly receiving compliments.

Color Name: #7.43 Red Penny
Out of all the reds I've used to color my hair, and I've used many, Red Penny is the one that got me the most compliments... perhaps really the only compliments. After using other reds, I'm going back to this one. It's hot, but very natural.

I think that this is the only hairdye that I have ever done myself that actually stayed. the color is so rich, and looks like you got it done at a salon. All you have to buy is the developer to mix with it. Box hairdye doesn't work as well as these professional lines. So if you are looking to dye your hair by yourself, I TOTALLY suggest this (it's cheaper than the box dyes as well). I'm very happy with the turn-out.

C'MON AMAZON, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND RECLASSIFY THESE REVIEWS TO THE PROPER PRODUCT/COLOR!!! While reviewing L'Oreal Techniques Preference Champagne Blond 8.1, THERE ARE 15 REVIEWS--FOR OTHER COLORS IN THE LINE, HOWEVER, NOT ONE OF THEM IS FOR THIS SPECIFICM COLOR CHAMPAGNE BLONDE. Instead, there are reviews for other colors in the Loreal Techniques Preference line (Blue Black, Lush Cherry, Red Penny, etc.) all of which should be referenced under each individual color of the product, NOT LUMPED IN AND REFERENCED UNDER CHAMPAGNE BLONDE 8.1. Before undertaking a permanent hair color change, I wanted to see what others who had used this color had to say about it. 1 star for poor classification by Amazon.

Color Name: #5.26 Lush Cherry
The color I used is Lush Cherry & I am absolutely obsessed with it!! I also love the L'oreal Preference brand in general. For reference, my natural color is a dark, mousy blonde shade. I have been dyeing it brown for the past six months. At first, I was using the color "Chocolate" from the L'oreal Mega Browns collection (also purchased at Sally's). I loved that color, as it had red and violet bases, but then I decided to go with the Lush Cherry, which is strictly a violet base. I mix mine with a 10 volume developer, because since I'm going darker, I don't need anything higher than a 10 volume, as that is just adding extra, unneeded damage to my hair. I mix it in a bowl and paint it on my roots first with a brush (also purchased at Sally's) and then I work it into the rest of my hair, almost as if I'm washing it. I let it sit for about 30 minutes, rinse thoroughly with cold water, and then use a deep conditioner. I then go at least 48hrs without washing it to let the color really absorb. This time, I added a shot of the "Ion Red Hot Intensifier" to my Lush Cherry dye, just to add a little more red to it and WOW. It is gorgeous. The results are a deep, rich, shiny chocolate brown and when I'm in the sun, my hair has a gorgeous, deep red cast. It reminds me a lot of the way Bella Swan's hair is described in Twilight.

I used to use box dyes from drugstores, which typically cost anywhere from $7-$15. These professional dyes from Sally's are waaaay cheaper and last sooo much longer. Also, most drugstore dyes automatically use a 20 volume developer, and like I said previously, if you are going darker, a 10 volume is the most you will need. So, these professional ones are way less damaging to my hair as well!

Color Name: #5.26 Lush Cherry
I cannot stress enough how AWESOME this color is!!! I have light mousy colored hair, and after watching Casey Holmes on youtube (She is the GO TO honest beauty guru!) I knew I had to have this color! Her hair is an amazing color! Go see for yourself! I finally had to try it myself!

It does have a strong smell (Just open a window). I waited until my hair was 3 days old, and used a 10 developer (argan oil brand) and mixed equal parts of both. then I painted it on my roots first with a dying brush I got from Sallys. I worked the color throughout my whole head with even having a tiny bit left over! (My hair is right above my chest and thin… but their is ALOT of it) Left it on for 25 mins and rinsed it out with cold water and conditioned it. I plan on washing my hair tonight!

The color is SO beautiful! It looks like a rich dark brown inside, but when light hits it… it gives off a red/violet subtle glow!

Save yourself trips to the salon girls… this was super easy and amazingly beautiful!!

I have used these products for years and have always purchased them in a discount store. I moved to the mountins several months ago and cannot get these specific items without driving 2 1/2 hours down the mountain then back up. Obvioulsy, at todays gas prices that is not an option for me. I just found PeninsulaBeauty.com here on Amazon and after much searching know they are the all around best supplier for any hair care needs I may require. Thanks Peninsula Beauty for your product discounts and EXTREMELY FAIR SHIPPING price. I'll be back many times to shop with you!!! K.Michel

extremely unsatisfied. This is false advertisement. I received a leaking bottle wrapped in saran wrap - which leaked into my mailbox which is a community mailbox- not in the box that was pictured or a complete kit. completely disappointed.
