5.0 out of 5 stars Mind wars junior is a BLAST!
My 7 and 6 year old LOVE their new game, mind wars junior. It is like trivial pursuit in different subject areas, like language, math, physical science, life science and social studies...to give you an idea, it has questions dealing with various subjects, like Christopher Columbus, gases, elements, Antartica, Martin Luther King Jr. and lots more.... My kids didn't want...

1.0 out of 5 stars EXTREMELY ANNOYING
Might very well be the most annoying game ever played. The game proceeds at a glacial pace, due to an extremely long-winded, repetitive and obnoxious "host". Absolutely insufferable.

The questions are decent for the targeted grade levels, though some children at that age still have trouble losing windows when their opponents answer a question correctly...

My kids didn't want to stop playing it is very easy to hook up, all you do is plug it in your system set the board on the leap pad, turn it on and play... It is very EASY to understand and they even have a repeat button, and volume control on the game, all the kids have to do, is go around as many spaces as the game tells them after they push the button, then they answer various questions, and first one to close all 5 subject windows wins! There is multiple choice, and also true and false questions...lots of fun! :) Very happy with this item! Keep up the awesome work leap frog! I loved watching them play... I give this a DEFINATE 5 star rating! Next, I will have to get the one for older kids....3rd grade up....

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome educational game, August 12, 2005

I gave this to my son for his 6th birthday, and it was a big hit with him and some friends who stayed late after his birthday party. They all hated to quit playing when it was time to go home! Like the other reviewer said, it was the first thing my son wanted to do when he got up the next morning. He even likes to play it alone. It spans across such a variety of subjects. My son is homeschooled and is advanced in math and reading, but he's on grade-level for other subjects, so there was still plenty to challenge him in this game. Some of the adults who were observing the kids playing this game said they even learned some things themselves! It is truly a great and FUN educational tool, and it's a nice supplement for any homeschool family to enjoy, as well. Because the game includes random rewards and punishments, like losing one of your completed "windows," it helps to balance out when an adult and child are playing together. It makes it still possible for the child to beat the adult. That's a great characteristic of this game. I highly recommend this for everyone. I also purchased the regular Mind Wars game for older kids so I could put it up for future use. At $6.98, this game is an absolute steal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful way to play and learn!, August 5, 2005
This review is from: LP GAME: Mind Wars Jr. (Toy)
I gave this to my 6 year old on her "gotcha day" and she plays with it daily. She prefers to play with me and not alone, but it's a great game. Next year I'm likely to go the next level for her. I highly recommend this as a great game!

5.0 out of 5 stars They Can Play Alone, August 3, 2005
This review is from: LP GAME: Mind Wars Jr. (Toy)
My children (4 & 6)love this game. It is great because no reading is necessary. The game asks the questions and even repeats them when necessary. While my kids don't know all the topics covered they enjoy the game. The fact that the game makes sure they move the correct number of spaces is great too. I definitely recommend this game and I will probably buy the next level of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game - learning while they have fun, February 20, 2005

What a great game -- My 6-year old twin girls received this for Christmas. One can play alone against the Leap Pad or they can play against each other. The questions get a little more difficult as they answer correctly. They're building on what they learned in school and they're having so much fun they don't realize they're learning something new. I'll have to get the older kid version in a year or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars So much fun !, June 25, 2005
This review is from: LP GAME: Mind Wars Jr. (Toy)
Got this for my 7 yr old daughter and she loves it. We played it for hours the day it came in. The next morning she ran into my room saying, "Can we play the mind wars game, please?" I went ahead and ordered the next Mind Wars game for older kids. It is so easy to set up and when I'm busy, she can play it alone. It teaches in such a way that the child doesn't even realize how much they are learning-LOVE IT..

4.0 out of 5 stars What a wonderful product!!!, July 23, 2005

We bought this for my 6 yr old daughter who will be starting 1st grade in the fall and she loves it, whether she plays by herself or she challenges someone, it's GREAT, I'd recommend it to everyone.

Only 1 bad thing, when you have the leap pade storage case, there's really not a place to keep this, so we've ended up keeping box (which is very slim) to keep it in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Purchase, June 8, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

We received our game a few days ago and have played it several times. My son just turned 7 two days ago and is loving it. The questions are a bit too hard for my 4 year old, but we have a lot of fun playing as teams. I was surprised that I missed a few of the questions. It is fun that the questions are challenging enough for my 7 year old to have to stop and think about for a few minutes but there are also questions that my 4 year old can answer. We also ordered the regular Mind War but have not yet received it. I am curious to find out how difficult the question are on it. We might have to wait a few years to play it.

This is a great game! It's very educational, and also very fun. My son just turned seven, and we've played it several times. He asks to play it often. We found the announcer entertaining. I would highly recommend this game. We will definitely be purchasing the other "Mind Wars" when he's a little older.

It could be a good game, but that "host" make you want to run screaming from the room. :( Trust me, I normally don't irritate that easily. But if you have the patience of a saint, go for it.
