4.0 out of 5 stars Good pop-punk, very good for a first CD
Its hard to compare their music to other bands, their French background brings a fresh style to the genre. They remind me of the Go-Gos with their fast beats, strong vocals & explosive guitar riffs

3.0 out of 5 stars Blondie; almost
I read a review mentioning Blondie as a major influence on the Plasticines. Being a serious Blondie fan I decided to give them a try. The influence is indeed very strong and easy to recognize. Unfortunately they do not have the wide artistic range of Debbie Harry and Chris Stein and resemble only Blondie's punkier stuff. The Blondie songs that comes most to mind are...

The Blondie songs that comes most to mind are Detroit 442 and the Hardest Part. Nevertheless, they do that part of Blondie's style very well. I like them and am glad to have the album. I recommend them to all serious Blondie fans, but doubt their appeal to wider audience.

LP1 is a solid album for a debut, and is actually quite diverse. "Loser" is probably the most single-worthy, in my opinion, and is my favorite song from this album. I can't stop listening to it...very catchy. The first three songs on the album are my favorite, and there are a couple of tracks that I do skip over, but I think it should be noticed that they have the talent and ability to take future releases higher. This is a good debut album, although at times it does sound as if they're trying to find "their" sound. I do recommend this album to anyone, and I also can't wait for the next one!

How could I buy this? OK they are really cute...but unfortunately they completely make my point about the French not being able to play rock. It is sloppily played and produced with very very little talent...Avoid

There is a great review on Amazon France about this record, where the guy says they are even less pretty than his hairdresser. You have to read it! It is so true! This is one of the worst records ever. These girls have no talent, cannot play their instruments and the record is really sloppily produced. What was amazing is the extraordinary reviews this record recieved in the French press. I know that French rock has not allways been great but this is really horrible. It is obvious the guys at the French rock magazines find them cute (Ok, they kind of are). I repeat myself, this is amazingly bad, really and in that sense deserves to be heard...or not.
