Well, I'd written a glowing, very detailed review of this item 2 days after I received it as a birthday gift. It's beautiful, works well diffusing oils into the air gently, and *didn't survive* 4 days of intermittent use.

The first time the water came below the sensor, it turned off, as it was supposed to. According to the (badly written) instructions, I should have been able to just add water to bring the level over the sensor and it would work again. Nope. I unplugged it, filled it, and the sensor light was still on. I let it rest for about an hour. It turned on and made mist/diffused for about 3 minutes and shut off again - the red light indicating a too-low water level. Unfortunately, the sensor happened to be under about an inch of water at the time. After many attempts to remedy this situation, I'm going to have to ask the purchaser for the receipt so I can send it back. It's too bad because I was completely in love with this item.

I might try just to get a replacement, but I might return it for a completely different ultrasonic diffuser.

I gave this to my daughter for her birthday. She was thrilled with the product. After a week or so she called and said that it had stopped working. She read directions and let it rest for a while. She made sure everything was clean inside. It still didn't work. She finally called to have it returned. Amazon said they would give her a merchandise credit, but she was so disheartened. I hope others have not had a similar experience.

I bought one of these for myself about 4 years ago and liked it so much I got one for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. She liked hers, too, till her daughter broke it. I've used mine more in the winter than during the rest of the year. I find it relaxing to watch the colors and the soft, flowing mist that also keeps the room humidified. I'm not sure why the other reviewers had a problem with theirs. I've let the water evaporate a few times, and when I filled it up, it didn't work at first, but within 15-20 minutes, it started flowing just like always, and also worked after my granddaughter poured all the water out, and it set there with the power on for hours before I discovered it. It's not difficult to keep clean, but when used continuously, it may get some calcium deposits or even a little moldy looking stuff down in the water. I just wash it carefully with clear water.

I'm just now getting into aromatherapy, and I've got essential Rose Otto oil in it, and it smells wonderful. I would recommend these to anyone.

This product is just beautiful. It is easy to assemble and the glass is a georgous cobalt blue. Just remember to keep the water level full. The colorful mist is cool and relaxing to watch. I first saw one in my mother's hospice room and loved watching the beautiful mist pouring out. I decided to make the purchase to remember my mom in her last days. I'm enjoying the mister every day.
