I bought 5 of these to deactivate magnetic door locks, 1 works fine, 1 failed after a couple of weeks, another goes crazy on the relay when someone is moving just a little on the sensor range, and 2 are still unused. Make of that what you will, locations are very different so it could be an issue of activity on sensor periphery, or could be bad manufacturing. Either way I will probably keep ordering since there are not a whole lot of options for these sensors ceiling mounted, I just hope I will get a few that will last longer.

tried to wire this up for a low-voltage LED closet light circuit, and i) the instructions are terrible ii) if you can decipher them, it still didn't work.

What did I expect from a $9 PIR? Not much. I use these to trip a timer circuit for my water heater recirculating pump and they work flawlessly in that regard. They see everything and trigger dependably. The only drawback is that they make a wicked high pitched buzz as the switching circuit turns on and off. Very annoying but I didn't want to spend $60-70 each on higher quality PIR's so I can't complain.
