5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST LSAT REVIEW BOOK!!!
This is by far the best LSAT Preparation book! I found it not only extremely helpful, but also motivating. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not much of an "advantage"
The book is nicely laid out but the questions are not, I repeat, are NOT from the LSAT. To get the best preparation possible, get the real questions and drill. In fact, some of the questions in "The LSAT Advantage" leave room for multiple answers.

1.0 out of 5 stars To Your Disadvantage With Professor Dave, June 11, 2006

I purchased this book because of its good reviews. I review now why those reviews are not at all accurate. What then is accurate? Relaxed approach. Proverbs on learning. What is problematic is that the book does not actually deliver on its title! Why are you buying it, after all? The lesson plans offer no concrete strategies that commonsense could not have dictated. I find the advice proffered, while not unhelpful, to be nothing illuminating. The Logic Games section is sadly lacking in efficient methodology, in both diagramming and approach. As well, the answer explanations are at times unsatisfactory, and do keep in mind the practice questions, like the included 3 full-length exams, are not actually from the LSAT. The accompanying audio track is worthless to any rational, thinking being. Compared to other prep texts, this books should be ashamed. Save your money and buy more worthwhile things. Like recycled paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST LSAT REVIEW BOOK!!!, October 28, 2004

This is by far the best LSAT Preparation book! I found it not only extremely helpful, but also motivating. I found myself gain confidence by going over all of the material in the book and found the material to be similar to what you encounter on the actual test. The preview test, practice sets, exercises and the full-length practice sets were excellent along with the detailed strategies for each section. You see yourself doing better with more practice. The logical reasoning sections in the book are broken down well by topics allowing you to work separately on main question types. You are able to identify the questions and get through the section faster. The reading comprehension section of the book teaches you how to pace yourself, as well as, encourages you on how to read the passages so that on the day of the test your are able to finish all four passages along with the questions. As for the analytical reasoning section of the book, it is divided into three areas giving you strategies on how to tackle the different types of problems. I found the analytical reasoning section to be very clear and concise, and in fact it is the section I scored the highest in on the LSAT. The CD also was helpful with various tips. I would highly encourage anyone preparing for the LSAT to use this book for review as it is an excellent guide to getting a higher score.

5.0 out of 5 stars a student from SoCAL, October 18, 2004
This review is from: The LSAT Advantage with Professor Dave (Paperback)
I took the LSAT some time ago and finished one semester of law school, then dropped out due to family reasons. Two kids and three jobs later I wanted to try law school again but I had to retake the LSAT. (Schools would not accept my old score which I found a little short-sighted.) I found this book on line and it seemed to fit my needs. I dutifully sat for the four-week course. It helped a ton, especially in the Analytical Reasoning section which had me absolutely fooled. The style, thorough coverage, and classroom humor of the teacher was very appealing. I also bought the four latest LSATs available and took them, timing myself. The materials in the book book were just like the past exams which gave me confidence going into the June exam. My score was in the upper 20% (better than last time). I strongly recommend this study plan if you are pinched for time and want a solid review. L. Herrington

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will raise your score, February 16, 2005

This review is from: The LSAT Advantage with Professor Dave (Paperback)
If you've read my other reviews, you'll see that I've dissected and used nearly every test preparation book on the market. Though relatively new, LSAT Advantage has quickly moved to the front of the pack as the best LSAT book available.

The problems in LSAT Advantage are accurate and thoughtful, and the explanations strike the perfect balance between traditional, formal methods and state-of-the-art tricks specific to conquering the LSAT. The CD-ROM not only contains practice exams, but also tips and tricks which reinforce the material presented in the book. We use this book in our Gorilla Test Prep LSAT course, and students and instructors alike have found it to excel in every way.

1.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but not realistic, September 7, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The LSAT Advantage with Professor Dave (Paperback)
I bought this book because of the good reviews it had at Amazon. The practice problems were very unrealistic. Some of the tips were also unrealistic and counterproductive. It is a laid back style, however, and if you want to do marginal and put in marginal effort, perhaps this is your book. I have had the most success with Powerscore books and recommend them highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best LSAT Review Ever, October 27, 2004

In the past year, I have read three LSAT review books, and this is by far the best LSAT review book that I have read. The quotes are fun and interesting to read. It really did a good job of relaxing me. I really liked the conclusion and assumptions exercise. This was extremely important in finding the correct answers. I really liked the reading comprehension strategies. Your writing sample exercise was right on. You were very brief about the importance of it and the instruction on it. From the CD, your tips and tricks page is really helpful. There is a lot of great information in there. You explain the whole test and all of the key techniques of taking each section of the exam. I really liked the voice track introduction into law school 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year.

5.0 out of 5 stars 15 Point Gain, February 18, 2004
This review is from: The LSAT Advantage with Professor Dave (Paperback)
THE LSAT Advantage helped me in numerous ways... The "Logical Reasoning" materials were most helpful for me. The detailed strategies, helpful exercises, and numerous practice sets allowed me to fully understand these questions; which are important because "Logical Reasoning" is half the test. Also, the "Reading Comprehension" section provided me with the material and instruction/strategy to tackle these tedious passages. In addition to this, the "Logic Games" section of the book helped map out multiple approaches to each type of game. The LSAT Advantage. It helped ME a ton (rasied my score 15 points), and made me feel very comfortable on test day.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great study guide with humor, June 27, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The LSAT Advantage with Professor Dave (Paperback)
Great information, helpful hints, and humor highlight this book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone studying for the LSAT. Professor Dave explains how to handle all types of questions and then gives plenty of practice. Studying for the LSAT gets monotonous but this book keeps it interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars The materials matched the exam perfectly, February 22, 2004

This review is from: The LSAT Advantage with Professor Dave (Paperback)
This book has a comfortable, casual style despite the strong academic aproach to the exam.
The tips for the Reading Comprehention section were most helpful to me because I was having trouble finishing thre section.
I had looked at several other books my friends were carrying around, and none compares to The LSAT Advantage.
