5.0 out of 5 stars Keyboards DO matter if you type a lot!, July 5, 2002

This review is from: Key Tronic LT Designer 104-Key Keyboard Membrane (Black) (Personal Computers)
This keyboard is awesome. I am a programmer and computer enthusiast with typing rated at 111 words-per-minute by BrainBench.com certfication, which I achieved while using this keyboard. The tactile response feels great and provides the response I want to feel under my fingers, while also being very quiet.

The special Ergo features that provide 5 levels of "strength" required to press different keys based on which fingers usually press them isn't noticable to me except that it helps my typing speed and along with the tactile response mentioned above keep my fingers from hitting keys that I shouldn't, even if I happen to touch them while typing. Overall typing with this keyboard is a very comfortable experience (especially if you type "correctly"; hunt-and-peckists or non-standard typists may not notice as much of an improvement) and I often find myself severerly limited when I have to switch to another keyboard while using another computer (so much so that I may have to get at least one more of these things!).

After several years of use, this 'board is still running great technologically, and the only issue I've had is that on several keys the lettering is wearing off. The keys so far are: V, N, M, and L (letters nearly gone), and S, D, "," (comma), and "." (period) (partially worn). This is after quite a lot of use, however, and as a touch-typist doesn't pose a problem for me...the benefits far outweigh any detriment, and to top everything off, the black looks great!

I'm getting fed up with my laptop's keyboard (it's a good keyboard but on the thin side as with most laptops), and based on my experience with this KeyTronic LT Designer, I'm seriously considering getting a KeyTonic Tag-A-Long (black, of course) keyboard to stick on my laptop, which I am using more often and getting fed up with keyboard-wise.

As should be obvious by now, I can't more highly recommend this keyboard!

5.0 out of 5 stars Made my already fast typing speed even faster!, October 6, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Key Tronic LT Designer 104-Key Keyboard Membrane (Black) (Personal Computers)
I cannot even begin to describe for you how much of a difference this keyboard makes for me. I am a medical transcriptionist and type approximately 12 to 16 hours a day during the week and at least 10 hours over the weekends. I have a typing speed of approximately 120WPM and I can feel that it has improved even more since starting to use this keyboard only recently. The "touch" and "feel" of this keyboard is truly a pleasure. I was using an IBM keyboard (inexpensive from a discount store) and I had no idea how much difference a keyboard could make! I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone, particularly to "real" typists with speed. I don't think I'll ever go back to any other keyboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars A keyboard that would make the Energizer Bunny proud, August 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Key Tronic LT Designer 104-Key Keyboard Membrane (Black) (Personal Computers)
I have owned two of these keyboards for several years, use one at work, and have installed close to fifty of them in my work as a systems integrator. Every one of them is still in service and no problems have occurred to date, while cheapie keyboards need replacing every couple of years when installed in a 24/7/365 environment. With its lifetime warranty, if one ever does fail, it will be easy to have repaired or replaced.

I whole-heartedly recommend the LT Designer keyboard.
