I would buy these again if there is future need as they worked flawlessly and were easy to install and get working.

I bought this product as a substitute for another video balun product I was using from another company that cost me $18.99 a pair. The design on in these baluns makes inline wiring with CAT5/5E cabling a breeze. As compared to the usual video baluns I was purchasing I have to say that these baluns are absolutely wonderful. The matching transformers (75 ohm to 100 ohm <-> 100 ohm to 75 ohm) they use in these baluns perform very well, better than my usual brand I use.

These are now my new standard for video baluns. For those of you who have questions beyond the description and specifications here I can add the following:

Both pieces are identical unlike the brand I always used which means I can throw them into a box together and now worry about pairing them up based on whether the DC connector is make or female.

They come with 1 DC coaxial (2.5mm x 5.5mm) male to male plug to plug into the video balun DC coaxial female jack located on the side.

Each balun also has 2 sets of screw terminals for optional audio or whatever else you want.

Now I'm going to order more!!!

Ordered a pair of these and couldn't get video through them. Power passed just fine, but no video.
Finally broke out the ohmmeter, and pins 4 & 5 were shorted on one of the two baluns.
I filled out Amazon's online return form on a Friday, asking for replacement, and was very impressed
when the replacement arrived via Fedex on Saturday morning. My joy was fleeting however, as again the baluns
did not work, and this time both of the replacement baluns indicated pins 4 & 5 shorted. 3 out of 4 bad. I
finally ordered a different brand of powered balun and they worked without any drama. I intend to avoid any
future purchases of LTS products.

I admit I was a little leery when I saw the negative reviews for this, but I went ahead and got them anyway because of the low price.
Fact is, the baluns worked just fine right out of the box. I successfully tested the video signal and power as well by sending 12V to an infrared camera at the other end of 250' of CAT5 cable.
Worked fine and I'm satisfied.

This balun offers additional screw terminals for audio or PTZ control, which I thought was cool. I bought one pair to try out and was disappointed.

The little set screws used to insert stripped wire into the balun for audio/PTZ control were junk. Three of them were stripped from the factory. When I received the units, there were three screws rolling around inside the package. I put the screws back in and....well...they didn't even thread. Totally stripped.

I switched to another style and MFG of baluns and have been happy.

I'd like to write a review on how these worked, or what didn't...but unlike the other poster who got 3 out of 4 bad...I struck out on all four units. Swapped them out with some existing balun's I've got that I know work...back in business. Plug these in, nothing.

A lot of posters seem to love these units, so it still maybe worth taking a shot at them. Just keep in mind you may get something that doesn't function. At all. As for me, I'm won't be giving them another chance.

It gets two stars only based on others getting good units, and the units seemed solid and like the had the potential for a good multi-function use. If only the functioned.

I bought 8 of these for my 4 channel system in January, and replaced them with something different in July. For me, the picture wasn't very clear and I had to constantly adjust them due to the interference in the picture (wavy) . I replaced them with 2 (4) port passive baluns, and moved my power supply for the cameras to the attic, that way I can get 4 cameras on 1 cable run and keep the power off of it. I wished I would have saved the $60 and bought the other ones the first time.

When using this item the video picture becomes snowy and almost unusable. I checked the camera and when using the normal cable everything is fine, so it cannot be the camera.

I've seen other reviews where people received defective items. Mine work great. They work great if your house is pre-wired with Cat5E wiring and you have security cameras that have BNC wires and connectors. Cat5 wire tends to be much cheaper for long runs compared to the BNC wiring. I thought I would lose signal through the connectors, but I was surprised when I saw that the signals transmitted though the Cat5 was great. I'm using them with 600TVL security cameras and the signal passes through super clear, no noise or grainy picture. If you use them for security cameras with BNC connectors you will need to buy one package of these for each camera. One connector hooks up to the camera, the other connector connects to your DVR and your power supply. The Cat5 wire runs between them. You will not need to run a separate power cable to the camera from your power supply. The Cat5 wire will pass power and video signal through.
