Product Description

From the Manufacturer

"Job Switching, episode 39, originally broadcast on September 15, 1952 during I Love Lucy's second season. Today, this wacky story remains a favorite and is re-created in this delightful giftset. Both dolls wear pink dress coats, pink baker's hats, and pink heels. Check out the face sculpts — each doll looks as though their faces are ""stuffed"" with chocolates! Rooted eyelashes and fantastic face paint provide the finishing touches. I LOVE LUCY and related marks are trademarks of CBS Broadcasting Inc. © 2006 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All rights reserved. This doll set is in the Pink Label Barbie Collection. Lucy and Ethel are wearing matching pink uniforms with hats and Lucy has pearl earrings and necklace. They have their cheeks bulging with chocolates. They have wide open eyes with hair (not painted on) eyelashes. They are holding squares of paper with a cardboard "chocolate" in their right hands. These are probably removeable since they don't show in the pictures on the website. Lucy says, "Ethel, I think we're fighting a losing game!" in a clip from the show. The doll may say more but I have not opened it to see and the box does not say.
This is a cute set for any Barbie collector or lover of I Love Lucy.

I am a little bit after the era of this show, but many are the fond memories of my mother and I watching it together. She always related to Lucy... which even if it's a little frightening , provided a lot of childhood entertainment. I got her this for her birthday this year, and she really loved these dolls. They are beautiful!

4.0 out of 5 stars True to Series. Says four phrases, July 4, 2009

I opened mine just to see what was inside. When you take the stand out, the base can be turned to 'on' from 'try me' and four or so phrases from the show are recorded:

"Oh, this is easier"
"What are you doing you know .......is that so"
"Hey this is fun!"
"Ethel, I think we're fighting a losing game"

The flat cardboard chocolate in Lucy's hand fell off as soon as I took it out of the box. But I really like how these are sculpted - the fake eyelashes, bumps in the cheeks from the candy, and expressions. In all, a lovely set.
