I was excited to start using this product and all was well for the first week or two. Then the mechanism become loose. What I mean is there is slop when you go to rotate the ipad. You start to rotate it and you notice quite a bit of play in it until it engages again. I even went on the company website and went to the tech support option and even emailed my concern with no reply after a week. So I guess they do not care about after the sale customer satisfaction. I was planning on buying their new iPhone 4 holder for my vehicle, and the H4 iPhone 4 holder for my office to go with my ipad but I won't be spending anymore money with this company.
*** Update*** I still have yet to ever hear from anyone at this company about my concern. I guess they don't read their reviews on Amazon either to try and resolver customer issues like other companies do.

The product is well made, sturdy and does the job. Unfortunately Thermaltake's customer service doesn't make the grade. I had a small problem with the cradle when I removed it from the box. On the two lower legs there are rubber pads mounted just above the pegs that stick out to support the iPad. I'm not sure why they're there since the iPad does not touch them when mounted in the cradle. In my case one of the rubber pads was not attached, nor was it loose in the box. OK, it's a little piece of rubber, but it's supposed to be there and it wasn't. I don't want to return the cradle over this so I drop Thermaltake an email and ask if they could send me another rubber pad and I would stick it to the leg and live happily ever after. What I got back was a long email which outlined Thermaltake's RMA process. I think there is less involved with returning a car to GM.
I wrote again and said that I just needed THE LITTLE RUBBER PIECE. They write back "OK, we will send it". What they sent was little and made of rubber but bore no resemblance to the piece I was looking for. Solution. I peeled off the other pad so as to maintain balance in my life.

This holder works perfectly for what it is designed for (holding a small monitor on a flat surface
). Not only does it work for the ipad but Kindle as well. Combined with Apple's bluetooth keyboard it works and looks like a mini Imac. Only drawback I can see is if it is knocked over it can fall out of the holder. The ipad alone is so thin holding it can be a challenge after some time so that it really needs either some type of cover or a holder (I have and recommend both).
