About the Author
Khalil Sharif was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. It was there that he experienced the ghetto that he writes about. Reformed from a life on the fringes, he moved to Atlanta. It was there that he met his current wife and started writing. In 2000 he returned to New Jersey and finished his first book.

Mr. Sharif has certainly outdone himself in first book. The book is indeed a page turner. The characters come to life from the very first chapter. I just love the way the book chronicles the lives of the Lyvest Ones and yet remains focused and tasteful. If your library lacks excitement and bravado this is certainly the book you need to add to your collection. I am an avid reader and supporter of up and coming authors,but this book isTHE LYVEST ONE yet!!! TLO baby!!! -Nicole Gordon (Atlanta)
