Self setting Atomic time & Date
Select your time zone from 0 GMT to +/-12 hr settings, face the clock towards the direction of Ft. Collins, Colorado and watch it automatically update the time. This clock has a built-in antenna to receive the WWVB radio signal, from NIST radio station, located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Transmitting the exact time radio signal continuously throughout the United States at 60 kHz. The signal has a range of up to 2,000 miles. Radio reception can be limited during daytime hours, so its strongest signal will be reached in the evening. Daylight saving time resetting twice a year a bother? This clock automatically adjusts for you every March & November, when recognized. Optional on/off feature for those states who do not adjust for DST.

Low battery indicators
The clock features low battery icon for both the clock & wireless sensor letting you know when batteries should be changed. Two as gifts and one for myself.
I really only wanted to buy three, but in the first 3, the outdoor thermostat failed for each of them after about a year.
New batteries and resets did not fix the problem.
So I ordered 3 more clocks, thinking at first that I had just gotten a lemon.
(I tried to find just the outdoor unit, but it is hard to find and costs almost as much as the whole unit.)
Out of these next 3, 2 of them had a failing outdoor thermometer within a year.
The last one I ordered has been working for well over a year.
In 5 of the 6 cases, the outdoor thermostat was mounted in a porch and was not directly subjected to the weather.
The atomic clock and the indoor thermostat on all of these have always worked well.
They have never given a problem.
But the outdoor thermostat is not reliable. And that was a main reason for buying this unit.
I cannot recommend it.
I contacted La Crosse, carefully explaining the situation, and asking if they were going to do the right thing, and provide a solution, or new working clocks. They responded with a standard form letter, suggesting that I "try changing the batteries", or "try moving the clocks to a different location". I responded explaining that I had already tried all of that, and I again carefully explained that all four clocks functioned perfectly, and all four failed on the same day (still indicating that they received the NIST signal, but failing to re-set the clock) ... this is not a battery or location issue, it's an engineering failure.
The final response from La Crosse was that my clocks are "out of warranty", so it's my problem, not theirs.
So let me ask you this ... if a company refuses to do the right thing, and replace a product with an obvious design flaw, why would anyone ever buy a product from them again?
Setup is confusing, just because the broadcast time needs an offset, and the year is not displayed, nor labeled, but needs to be set. It's not something that was difficult to find in the manual, nor to correct (setting is a breeze) but confusing enough that when I got the second clock I made the same mistakes and had to look in the manual again.
Incidentally, each of my two reads only it's own external temperature sensor, so there is no issue with having two clocks. For me I simply have two external sensors mounted together, but if you want multiple clocks to read multiple locations it's not a problem.
It would be nice if there were more temperature zones, but then again my multi-zone temperature gadget never works, is a lot more complex, and isn't a GIANT clock which is all I really wanted in the first place when purchasing this.
Having the outdoor temp is the entire reason I chose this product, to help me know when I can open my windows for nice cool air, and knowing how to dress when taking my motorcycle or going outside. I had placed the sensor under an awning out of any rain or snow. I emailed customer service before the one-year mark and they gave me a long list of things to try (special ultra fresh batteries, many hard resets, etc) but the base wouldn't pickup any signal. I never got more replies after my second email with support.
I wish I had time to take them to small claims court because I had proof of it failing before the warranty and they would not honor it or help me out in any way.
