5.0 out of 5 stars Waaaay Coooool
We absolutely LOVE this thing. It's so nice to be able to look up at the ceiling and know what the time is and whether to pull the covers up tighter and snuggle a little longer. I've had a projection alarm before that was in a blue light. It was so bright you could read by it and I found myself covering it up to block the light. This one has a soft red light that...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cool item, short lived
I liked having the time and temperature displayed on the ceiling. It is adequately bright for nighttime use but not for daytime use. After about a year, the outdoor temperature function quit working. We had given an identical unit to my father, and upon his death I brought it home. After a few months that one quit displaying outdoor temperatures. Of course we reset...

5.0 out of 5 stars Love projection clocks and knowing the temperature outside before dressing.,
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WT-5220U-IT Projection Alarm Clock with Indoor/Outdoor Temperature (Kitchen)I love these projection clocks. When one awakens in the middle of the night and the eyes are not working at optimum levels, the large numbers projected on the ceiling are clear and easy to read. This is our second La Crosse projection clock. We have one which we use for international travel because it is so easy to set for local time. A great product and many models to choose from.
3.0 out of 5 stars Little toy,
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WT-5220U-IT Projection Alarm Clock with Indoor/Outdoor Temperature (Kitchen)It works, no argument there. The projection is dim and includes the time and outdoor temperature, no option to change. With lights on, on a white/off-white wall, you may not be able to see it. In total darkness, it looks decent.
4.0 out of 5 stars it's ok,
This review is from: La Crosse Technology WT-5220U-IT Projection Alarm Clock with Indoor/Outdoor Temperature (Kitchen)Very good product, it works very well. We like it so much. The only problem is when we got it, it's already been open box.
4.0 out of 5 stars It works fine!,
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice to see the outside temperature,
4.0 out of 5 stars Love this Clock,
1.0 out of 5 stars Very dissapointed,
I have ended up depending on both.
I am using both clocks in my computer room so having the temperature projected is a valuable feature during these warm weather months.
The La Crosse appealed to me because it projects time/temperature and one can set the projection angle.
The La Crosse has been a big disappointment though.
During set up, the outdoor thermometer was right next to the clock yet the clock reported it was 74F inside and 76F Outside. My Oregon Scientific was reporting 72F. I have no clue which sensor was the most accurate.
For me the La Crosse projection feature is useless as it is far too dim. So, I keep the clock on my desk nearby.
Since there is no way to keep the backlight lit, to read the temperature, I must turn on a light so I can find that button for that.
I have also given up trying to figure out how to set the time. It has never been able to set itself. In fact I found setting anything on this clock to be so frustrating, that I no longer bother.
My Oregon Scientific (RM313) always "hears" the time and sets itself and the projected time is much, much brighter, but there is no temperature and no way to change the project angle.
The Oregon Scientific is frustrating because it only wants to project onto the ceiling. I want to project onto the wall in front of me.
Also, when I do project, even onto the ceiling, once I have rotates the clock so the projection can be comfortably read, I can no longer see the clock face.
1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy,
5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT,
2.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculously complicated,
Later - I watched the video on the Lacrosse website. Now I understand how to set things up (although it doesn't explain why the automatic time setting wasn't working correctly). Also, be aware that unlike most modern alarm clocks, this one does not have a weekdays/weekends/all days option.
