Editorial Reviews

Upon the breakup of legendary Krautrock duo Neu!, drummer Klaus Dinger formed La Düsseldorf with his brother Thomas and keyboard player Hans Lampe. This, their self-titled debut, was recorded in 1975 and is a staggering mix of Dinger's trademark motorik rhythms, glammy synths, pulsing organs, and urgent guitar work that altogether create a sound that, at times, predates both punk and post-punk, no small feat. Featuring their European hit single Silver Cloud, La Düsseldorf's debut record is classic Krautrock on par with the best offerings of Neu!, Kraftwerk, and Can.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for fans of Neu! January 12, 2006
Format:Audio CD
I was so psyched that there are finally legit (albeit pricey) reissues of these classic albums. If you dig Neu! you'll love these spacey-yet-driving jamz. The sounds of planes landing, roaring crowds, and swelling synths all gel with pianos, crystalline melodies and a very Euro feel throughout. Klaus rocks the axe this time, with his bro Thomas and Hans Lampe on percussion and electronics. Comes in a cool mini-LP sleeve with liner notes in Japanese. Also check out "Viva". "White Overalls" from that album is a speaker-exploding overblown mini-masterpiece that just makes you wanna freak out and pump your fists in the air and run all over the place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Album August 25, 2013
Format:Audio CD
Writing this review simply because a (clearly joking) troll decided to knock down this albums's average rating by writing a lousy review.

This is, simply put, one of the best albums ever made. Krautrock at its best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Düsseldorf Düsseldorf Düsseldorf! January 20, 2007
By Lovblad
Format:Audio CD
If you like Neu. by this! It is simply a continuation of the Neu! approach to music, simply better recorded. The song "Düsseldorf" is at the same time beautiful and hilarious.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Time" is Great! October 7, 2014
Format:Audio CD
There are four songs on this CD. "Time" is great; the other three are OK.

CD is still worth the purchase, for "Time" alone, if you like that song. You can find the video on youtube - search for "Time by Dusseldorf."
