Book Description

La Luna is the timeless fable of a young boy who is coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances. Tonight is the very first time his Papa and Grandpa are taking him to work. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait. A big surprise is in store for the little boy as he discovers his family's most unusual line of work. Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Or will he be able to find his own way? This charming picture book is filled with incredible illustrations, and its unique story based on the Disney*Pixar short film is sure to delight.

5.0 out of 5 stars La Luna - Wonderful Book for Everyone October 6, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Having seen La Luna, the short animation, prior to Brave, I was just amazed. The next day I hopped on Amazon and ordered the book. You will love this book both as a reader and a listener. Wonderful and magical all in a short little book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Children's Literature at its finest April 26, 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is a fantastic story for any age.
It is exactly the same as the Pixar short for the most part. When I saw the short in theaters with Brave, I absolutely loved it and believe it was 100% better than Brave.
The book's illustrations are obviously different than Pixar's animation so you can't really fault them for that...
It is just a great read. One of the best children's books I have seen in a while

3.0 out of 5 stars The film short is so much better March 3, 2013
By Teacher
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
My son and I loved the film short when we saw it in the theatre, so as soon as I saw a book, I ordered it. The film is so much better though because the artwork just really doesn't pop in the book like it does on screen. Also, the book has text explaining the story, which does not happen in the film. We just get sound, and I think that was much more effective. When I read the book to my son, I can hear in my head the sound of the stars moving, and it's lost on the book. A cute book, but I wouldn't have bought it if I previewed it first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love February 26, 2013

Loved this short in Brave and the book is just as good. My daughter loves the book more than she did the movie short and that's saying a lot for a three year old

Pixar's short brought to life in a hard book. Beautiful illustrations tell the story of a little boy who goes to clean the moon with his father and grandfather.
