Editorial Reviews

La Peste was at the fore front of the Boston Punk Rock scene in 1979_80. Their music was, and still is, an addictive power buzz saw style totally unique unto itself. If you ever, or never saw them play, this DVD is the closest thing your going to get to riding a time machine back to watch La Peste rip it up again. The DVD features a full show filmed in Boston 1979, Six Additional Videos, and the Audio_Pix Gallery containing another six clips. Twenty videos total with the following songs Don t Want to Die in My Sleep Tonight_ Truth_ Please Love Sex _Whites of Your Eyes_ I Don t know Right from Wrong_ Someone Somewhere_ Not Today_Better Off Dead_Acid Test_ Blood_ Color Scheme_ Kill Me Now_ Spy Master You re Too Cute_ Black_Hold on to Love_ Kindness Invites Abuse_ Let Me Sleep_ Pop Rock Polls_ Skin tight

What They Are Saying about the La Peste DVD:

The La Peste DVD is probably the BEST visual document of the BEST "PUNK" band Boston had during the late 70's/early 80's a truly stunning piece of work both by the camera work as well as a killer performance of La Peste, a DVD that should be in any true fan of Punk rock collection !

Here is the review I wrote to my friend Jan Crocker, evil genius: I'd like to say, this is one impressive package- of video- you have sent me- I opened it, I marveled at it's beauty from the DVD itself... with it's poster printed on and strateg...ically placed hole to the cover and the liner photos. Now, about the performance of La Peste! Thank God you preserved this. Feels like I was there. Wish I had been. I did see them perform back in the day, but this is exceptional. I miss youth. They are so beautiful. My favorite remains "Acid Test", I love the way you did that with the really fast cutting back and forth- make me want to go out and DANCE, and to get into some kind of trouble... I am going to repost "Acid Test" on my page with this review- everyone who lived through this period of Boston Rock should see it, and should buy this DVD. You ROCK, Doctor. xoxo

I just finished watching the La Peste DVD. It was fantastic. You did a great job of capturing that moment in time and more. In fact much more. I always regretted not going to that gig so I was very pleased to spot myself in the crowd ( wearing the same outfit I wore to a Pastiche gig !) - thank you so much for righting the historical record! Seriously- it's a great DVD. La Peste was so good and they're lucky - as are many others - to have had you and your camera around.

La peste -- the DVD

If you were into the Boston punk scene in the late 1970s early 1980s, you probably danced the night away at a La peste show more than a few times. If you weren't savvy enough to dig punk, or if you just weren't old enough, never fear - Jan Crocker has got your back.

Crocker has produced and edited a DVD titled simply La peste. The DVD features an entire La peste performance from 1979, as well as additional videos and a black and white slide show with La peste audio.

The show footage brings you right back to the days of fishnets and Aquanet. Grainy black and white images of the band from different angles are interspersed with cuts to the audience at a fast pace to match the frenzy of the band and their fans. La peste plays all your favorite songs in this show including Don't Want to Die in My Sleep Tonight and Better Off Dead.

The Additional Videos feature Acid Test with images flying by at lightening speed, (yeah, it's trippy), and Kill Me Now, which Jan cleverly overlays with images from Vietnam.

The entire package pays homage to the vision and artistry of La peste and Crocker. Great music, great videos, and the extra added attraction of checking out the shots of the audience to see if you are among the fans. No serious Boston punk collection is complete without this visual and aural nugget.

Having searched for the notorious Matador CD of La Peste for some time..... this DVD is also a must. Alittle before my time but nevertheless a perfect document to the era and great fun to watch. Many thanks to the passion and effort put into it!!!
