I understand these are great hiking shoes BUT the sizes are NOT consistent with USA sizes....Order at least 1 size larger than what you'd order in any US store. I had to send them back and pay the shipping. Don't know why I ever thought I could buy shoes to fit on-line???

I ordered my size 10.5 and they were very tight I re ordered the next size up 11 and still too tight. I have a skinny foot so not sure how these were sized. I will just have to drive to a shoe store, yuck!

I'm a huge fan of older La Sportiva shoes. I've owned several pairs of Wildcats and Raptors, which have taken me everywhere from trail endurance races to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. When I saw these on sale, I figured I would give one of their newer entries a try. The first thing I noticed was the incredibly tight fit (I ordered the same size I have always been wearing). These are built on their newer "MorphoDynamic" sole, and I suspect that is to blame. Based on the look of the sole, I figured they would last longer (not that the other two classic models didn't last, they all put in several hundred miles each). Unfortunately, I've not had the pleasure of testing that assertion, as these were so painfully tight that I gave up on them after one 8-mile hike. I've never had to "break in" a proper pair of good trailrunners before, and I don't plan to start with these. More than six months later, I still have two hideous black toes from getting them smashed into the toe box on these for eight miles. I'm all for trying new things, but with my La Sportivas, I will be sticking to the tried-and-true. I would imagine there's a reason that the "MorphoDynamic" shoes are frequently discontinued while the much older Wildcat and Raptor lines live on. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Although it won't hold you in every situation (I slipped on a steep, wet, mossy boulder and fell 20 feet into a stream -- not the shoe's fault), these trail shoes provide better traction than any other running shoe I've worn. The deep grooves in a single piece of molded rubber grip very well on damp ground and wet leaves. Their construction gives me hope that they will outlast other shoes for which I've had to glue pieces back onto the soles. And the black color, which initially I was skeptical about, doesn't show all the dirt and mud I put them through. Would gladly buy these again. Oh, I wear a women's 10.5, generally a M or narrow, and these shoes fit me great.

I LOVE THIS SHOE! I backpack and hike and this is the only shoe I will wear. Yes the shoe is small, but if you do your research and you know that then you buy a larger size. I normally wear a size 8 women's shoe and in the Electron I wear a European 10. The shoe is light like a trail runner but can withstand rocks and long hikes like a lightweight hike boot. I have to two pairs at a time because this shoe is getting harder and harder to find. If you don't want to wear a boot then I highly recommend La Sportiva Electron Trail Runner Shoe for hiking.
