Should be called a "One-Cup Press",

This is a beautiful, functional, and nice little item for making fresh coffee in the French Press style. However, for an American, this is a ONE cup coffee press. The only way you could produce three cups of coffee from this thing is if you were serving espresso shots.

I Love My Coffee Press,
By
This review is from: LaCafetiere Wave 12-Cup Coffee Press, Chrome (Kitchen)
I love this coffee press- the size, the ease of cleaning, the style, and the functionality.I do not find it to be any more fragile than other coffee presses with glass beakers, it actually seems a bit thicker glass than my previous press experiences. I don't take the beaker out of the holder every time I clean it, and hold onto the handle while cleaning. I have not at all had to worry about it sliding out while cleaning. The filter also comes apart easily for cleaning, and I don't think it filters any less than other presses I have used. Plus- it hold plenty of coffee for a couple people's morning bliss, and I wrap a dish towel around it to keep the coffee warm when I make extra. I might even make a quilted "jacket" for it (unless I am able to find one) to keep the coffee warm longer. I'd much prefer pressed coffee than keeping an electric coffee maker on for hours. It is far more sustainable and the taste is better.

I've been really happy with this press -- especially for the price. I've had quite a few coffee presses over the years, and this one is as good as any I've used. It's cute too (not that that matters, but it does look nice sitting on my counter).

This is a nice looking coffee press but the glass is quite thin. It was broken in shipping to me, mainly because it was packed very badly. I sent it back and ordered an unbreakable coffee press.

Note: this is a comparative review of the LaCafetiere press, and not of the press-pot approach to coffee-making in general. This is a very nice little press. It works well, seems well made, and has a stylish, distinctive design--much nicer than the generic Bodums I've seen. Be aware that the "3 cup" designation may be misleading: according to the included documentation, this refers to three 3 oz. cups--basically, it's the right size for making single cups of coffee.

No better way to make coffee than with a French press. I love the style and functionality of this one. Very pleased.

This press is as pretty as it looks in the pics. Maybe more. I have a few French presses and this one is the easiest to clean. Over all, I love this one.Like most French presses, it doesn't make the amount of coffee it claims. An 8 cup press is about equal to a 6 cup drip maker. This is no different. It says 12 cup, but it's about 9 or 10. As long as you know that going in, you're ok. The only complaint I have, is that the handle is not very stable. If the press is full, the handle will give a little when you pour. This has not caused me any problems yet, it just weirds me out a little. I definitely recommend this press.

Very very small,

This three cup french press was way too tiny for my needs. It also arrived with the glass broke so I had to return it without ever getting to use it.I ended up buying a bigger one (Maybe 12 cups?) from a local store which worked out nicely in the end.

It is eye-catching, makes 4 7-8 oz. cups of coffee. It is durable, not cheaply made. I find no difference in quality between it and the Bodum. As a matter of fact, the beakers of the two french presses are interchangeable (I have both). The only thing I don't like about the LaCafe., is when unscrewing the parts to clean it, the knob at the top loosens also, which makes it difficult to undo the filter components. That is the only reason I didn't give it four stars.
