This is naive. If you do not see the small metal outlet attachment, you will be confused. It attaches easily. Without the small device that has the two metal prongs, and yours may come with it already attached as shown in the picture here, you might say this is the weirdest plug in I have seen in a long time. Try forever. The really neat thing about this situation is when you put it together you will find excellent relief and some joy, and you will quit searching the internet to figure out "how is this thing ever going to plug into my outlet?" Hey, all I can say it was fun and I am happy. Is there more than that to give something a high rating? :)

I ordered this through this seller after seeing the picture. The shipping was fast and i got my product before the expected delivery date. The adapter didn't fit into the product that I have. I requested a return and I got this: "The reason for return is a personal choice (not needing it anymore, doesn't fit) therefore it would most likely not be worth the money for returning. I apologize for the inconvenience but it would be helpful in the future to yourself and whomever you choose to buy from if you make sure of plug/jack sizing before purchasing. Power supply values may match but the plug part is usually the tricky part and a common problem for Amazon purchases. Again, I am sorry that things did not work out for you."

If they know this is a common problem, then they should know to give people an option to exchange for something that will work. No one want to order the wrong parts. I wouldn't recommend this company.

lost an adapter for my LACIE hard drive, and this saved me from buying a $40 replacement from a local brick and mortar store

Just to echo the previous review, THIS POWER SUPPLY COMES IN TWO PARTS!!! I understand the design philosophy -- this reduces the risk of doing damage to the prongs, by allowing you to fit them in only when are using the unit. That said, they should mention this in the instructions! This is by no means standard procedure with power units, and the customer should not be obliged to search all over the web to figure out this unorthodox design (the Lacie hotline is the only immediate means by which to get this solved, and it costs 15 bucks!). Cure you APD! -- you made me feel like a fool, and hurt my thumb!
