As the description says, this unit reads and writes almost every known format of CD and DVD. It comes with Toast which is an excellent and easy-to-use burner application. By purchasing this unit you can add DVD capability to an older Mac or speed up your disk burning (the drives that come in Apple laptops and minis are kinda slow). It runs quietly and does a good job. I am satisfied.

I've used this product for a few weeks now with my Powerbook and so far no problems. The drive was easy to install/connect and use and it is very quiet.
