The LaCie external mobile hard drive worked as advertised. Plug it in one of your USB ports and it is ready to download your files for protection against hard-drive failure. I had a mirrored backup (Intel) drive fail on my Dell PC and spent three frustrating weeks on the phone and e-mails with Dell trying to repair it. Gave up and order the LaCie. My work was backed up in less than ten minutes. One especially large video file produced a "can't handle" message, but I solved that with one call to Product Support.
