5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for
I had been looking for some good tall waterproof boots to use while out in the snow or walking along the pond with the dogs. 2.0 out of 5 stars Very heavy boots
The product description for the LaCrosse Men's 18" Burly Air Grip Hunting Boot begins with "Lightweight, comfortable and made to move..." The lightweight claim is supported by the product details of "Shipping Weight: 2 pounds." If you are looking for a lightweight boot, this is not it.

I have hunted in Northern Michigan, in bog country, and I would hate to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for, January 17, 2011

I had been looking for some good tall waterproof boots to use while out in the snow or walking along the pond with the dogs. I got these boots one size bigger so when it's cold out I can use thermal socks comfortably.(btw they are conforatable with thermal socks). I have also used them with just regular white cottton socks and still found the boots to be very comfortable and still felt secure while walking in snnow, even being one size larger. These boots also have straps located on the upper part of the boot. I did not really consider how beneficial these straps are when I bought these boots(my last pair of boots like these did not have straps and i was still very happ with them). The clamp part of the strap works very well and tightens to a comfortable grip on my leg. I have worn these boots out in 16" of snow(the northeast this past week) and have had no problems with the clamps coming undone on the strap. All in all if you're lookiing for a good pair of waterproof boots to wear out snowblowing/shoveling, walking in shallow ponds, rivers etc.then definitely then these will not disapoint.

Have had a couple pairs of these before and really like them. I am a power lineman and wear them when the weather is wet and miserable here in Alaska. Lots of new models out but I like the original boot.

Great all around, reliable boot for the price. Been wearing these for about 15 years. Comfortable and durable. Great for hunting, fishing, mud, and water.

4.0 out of 5 stars good hunting boot, September 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Purchased this boot for hunting grouse in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. This type of hunting requires a great deal of walking. This boot is ideal for this type of hunting as it has a very tight ankle fit and is light. Only complaint is that the upper part of the boot is too limp which makes it difficult to put on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent boot for the money, January 4, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this boot leary that it would be comfortable or worth the money; since I have never purchased rubber hunting boots before. However, reviews were fairly good and it had a five star rating. The only flaw I can find with them is that they made in China and not in America.
These boots fit me perfectly as I measured my foot and ordered the appropriate size and they are more comfortable than my slippers. I actually walked around in the house with them on once I unpackaged them when they first arrived. They are easy to get on and fairly easy to get off and the sole has a great grip for walking. The inside is insulated, the boots are waterproof, and scent free towards animals, although they do smell like rubber. Overall, the boots are excellent, better than expected, and great for the money. I would definetely buy another pair.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very heavy boots, December 13, 2011

This review is from: LaCrosse Men's 18" Burly Air Grip Hunting Boot (Apparel)
The product description for the LaCrosse Men's 18" Burly Air Grip Hunting Boot begins with "Lightweight, comfortable and made to move..." The lightweight claim is supported by the product details of "Shipping Weight: 2 pounds." If you are looking for a lightweight boot, this is not it.

I have hunted in Northern Michigan, in bog country, and I would hate to try to pull my foot out of the ground when I sank in up to my knee, with these boots on. They may be made to sit in a blind, etc. but to me, they don't seem "made for stalking."

One reviewer said they were good for shallow water, and so I thought they might be good for a kayak boot... based on this review, and the product details.

However, the shipping weight is not two pounds, it is ten pounds, and each individual boot weighs 3 pounds. So anyone looking for light or lighter boots can have these factual numbers to use in comparison in looking for newer, lighter boots.

So, please note, I am not contradicting the other reviews, but I am adding a viewpoint for those who might benefit from it as I would have.
