I have been a free-motion quilter for several years. I decided to purchase a Supreme Slider and found it to be very helpful, especially for small quilts. My hands and shoulders do not get as tired when using the slider, and it takes less time to quilt a project. The only down-side is having to remove the slider temporarily every time I need to change the bobbin.

I don't know how anyone can FMQ without this wonderful little item. It makes the surface around your needle nice and slick so that your fabric moves with ease. This slider has really helped relieve the stress and pain I had in my neck and shoulders. If mine ever wears out, I WILL get another one.

I use the Slider every time I do free motion quilting and it really helps. I don't have a cabinet, so my sewing machine does not sit flush with the table, causing some "drag" on the quilt and the slider is really a necessity. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that, even though it grips the plastic extension on my sewing machine somewhat, it will come undone around the edges and so I have to use masking tape from the edge of the slider, under the free arm of the machine to the other side to make it really secure.

This little plastic square, stuck to your sewing machine bed, really does make quilting smoother and easier. I've heard of using silicone spray or spray wax on the sewing bed, but I've been afraid to try this for fear it would stain the fabric. The Supreme Slider works very well and I wouldn't quilt without it.

I bought this to try my hand at machine quilting so I am a rank beginner. I have a large platform on my machine and wish that the piece was a little larger. It is a standard 8x11 size with a slot near the center. I found that I left my feed dogs up once and they rubbed against the slider raising the area at the backside of the slot. It doesn't seem to affect its ability to slide but remember not to do this.

Ok now that I got the grasp and positioning lol it really makes the quilting process glide! Just tape the front end for extra measure (saw that on other reviews so did it right away; not sure if it would come up but taking no chances!). Comes with me to quilting class :)

I've been machine quilting for over 20 years. Last year I took an advanced machine quilting class and the instructor recommended the Supreme Slider. I thought I'd give it a shot. It REALLY made a difference to me, in reducing the drag over my sewing machine bed. I have my machine in a flat-bed cabinet and bought the queen size slider. I wish it came in even a LARGER size! Yes, the cost is expensive, but worth it to me. One of the other reviewers didn't feel it helped her much, but I can't believe how much smoother and easier it is for me to slide my quilts under the needle. You can't use it while using a walking foot or for piecing, because it covers the feed-dogs, but for free-motion quilting it's terrific! Not quite as helpful for a queen-size quilt (that's what I want a larger size for!!)but for anything smaller, a definite aid. :)

I got this for my wife after she saw it recommended on a quilting show. She's used this several times and tells me she doesn't think it helps her much. Plus after using it a few times a piece of thread got caught and cut in to the mat. I was able to fix this with some vinyl tape, but I think the hole where the needle goes through should be a bit more reinforced. This is in essence what I did to fix this. Hind sight I think my wife would take a pass on this item.
