I've not had the saw bite them yet so don't exactly know what will happen but it is certainly better than I was using .... which was nothing.

My husband decided it was time for chaps after an emergency room visit when he accidentally cut his inner ankle while cutting firewood (gratefully no major damage was done). After my husband was hurt others in the family got various chaps and by far these are better because they are more lightweight, the material is more flexible and they have wrap-around protection for the ankles. My husband is happy with these and glad he paid a bit more to get something that will be less uncomfortable to wear when he cuts tree/wood. (He cuts ~ 6 cords/year.) After purchasing these and using for a while we showed these to my husband's father who has a landscaping business and does tree work. He immediately declared he wanted a pair since they were much more comfortable than the ones he has used in the past.

From a person who has taken a chunk of skin from my shin with a chain saw, these chaps are very welcome. They are heavy duty (emphasis on the heavy) but comfortable to wear. If there is a downside, they are very warm. Fortunately I can do my woodcutting in cooler weather so not a problem. I've not had the saw bite them yet so don't exactly know what will happen but it is certainly better than I was using .... which was nothing. And I hope I don't have to test their viability.
So, for being more confident cutting wood, 5 stars!

After considerable online study, I bought these chaps. A few dollars more than others but
my legs are worth more.
