A Fresh Voice,
By Justus "Southern Sweetie" (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Labor Pains (Audio CD)
I had a friend reccomend me his CD, I thought I would not like it because I am an extreme country music fan, and I like the older singers, and it is hard for me to like the newbies. Well I was glad that I purchased this CD. He has the voice of the older singers but the beat of today's country music. I love the cd and my favorite song on there is "Next To The Man."
If you like a man who has the voice of the more traditional country singers with the pop of today's country newbies, then I suggest Michael Lee Austin's cd for your collection.

Waiting for the Sun - or CD #2,

wonderful to have a bit of fun in your music. This is a great product and the VP of Alive Records said that he wanted to show a CD could go against the big-boys (read old & often uninventive music) and the beauty of the CD was bringing a challange - an unknown country music artist, on a new label, can compete head to head with country music superstar Kenny Chesney during a debut album.
And he can get great press. Rock on.

What a hoot!,

I've been a subscriber to Armand's internet marketing newsletters for a little while, and am not much of a country-pop music fan. Today's (1/21/08) video on his blog, talking about how he created the product and got it to #1 on Amazon, et al, through his marketing techniques definitely piqued my interest, so I had to amble on over here and check this out.
This whole "phenomenon" says so much about our culture...it is funny, sad, inevitable, frustrating, and curious. But mostly funny: I can say this because I was not one of the one-star folks who got suckered on this thing. For a former rock fan like me, it was as if I had been given the Spinal Tap CD and went crazy over how great these guys were, completely unaware of the brilliant hoax. What kind of review would I give the album THEN? Way to go, Armand and Michael Lee! And I SURE am glad I'm not a country pop fan.....

This man *can* really sing - I've witnessed it in person!,

When I first saw the picture of Michael Lee Austin, I said... hmmm, he sure looks like Armand Morin! Recalling the time I attended Armand's Big Seminar in 2003, he entertained us all one of the nights with karaoke - and his wife Marianna can sing beautifully, too. I could tell then and there that he had a voice I could enjoy listening to. Roll forward three years, and I discover Michael Lee Austin... and I drag out a bunch of photos of Armand, comparing them closely to Michael... and I'm pretty well convinced that they must be the same person, recalling my experience of hearing his wonderful voice three years ago. I listened to the demos on the site, and since I'm an avid country music fan, I knew I just had to own this man's beautiful music. I hope you will take the time to listen... and enjoy the CD. I bought two so I could give one to my sister for her birthday. Hey... I'm not giving up MY copy! I wish Michael (& Armand) all the best success with his first country music album and look forward to his next album! If you haven't seen the amazing website, it's at http://michaelleeaustin.com and you can view a clever video there, while you're visiting & listening to the music.

Buy this CD if you want to join Armand's marketing seminar, not for the music.

I am a co-writer of Bad Habits.Brian O'Shea and I wrote this song in 1997 for his album. but I got to tell ya Michael did really great job on the blues rocker with the best hook in a song. Take the time to listen, you'll love it.I so impressed with this album, it sounds so Nashville. It is Great!

What An Amazing Singer!,
By
This review is from: Labor Pains (Audio CD)
I've seen Michael Lee, in person, singing at Karaoke bars and the like. And he always impresses me with his talent. And now, with his new CD, I'm blown away by the quality of song and song writing.
If you're into country, or even into rock, pop or jazz, this album is a must-have. Listen ot it, and you'll have an incredible urge to tap your foot, clap your hands, jump around, sing along, or two-step with the nearest person. It's that good.

This review is from: Labor Pains (Audio CD)
I don't listen to country at all. But I can't seem to get this cd out of my car stereo. I actually am driving down the road singing the songs like a karaoke superstar, loving it. The CD's got great sound and is not like what you think it will be... in a good way. Buy it today... Do it now.
