Re: UB40 Labor of Love II,

This review is from: Labour of Love 2 (Audio CD)
If there is, or ever was a great album by UB40, it is definetly this one. This album is covered from top to bottom, song to song with great reagge music. I have had the great privilege of having this album in my collection since 1990. Since then because of my raves and reviews of this album; the majority of my family members own this album mainly because of me, and the good works of UB40. UB40 is an exceptional band, one of the greatest bands to ever emerge out of Great Britian, besides Aswad, with such roots in reagge. UB40 continues to show us this year after year with their longevity in producing good reagge music. Other good albums by UB40 are: The Best of UB40 Vol 1&2, Labor of Love I, Promises and Lies. Do not pass up an oppurtunity to own one of these great albums by UB40. I only comment on the best of the best, and UB40 indeed that most definitly includes you.

I gave this one a 4 because its great, but IT'S MISSING 4 TRACKS which are one of the best on the album. You can't get them on the American release. It's worth paying more to get the import Labour of Love II. Look under IMPORTS.

Most of the Reggae purists will point to UB40's earliest works as their best. They may be right in a strictly Reggae forum. I don't suppose this album has the spiritual activist weight of much true Reggae. That being said, I love this CD. Ali Cambell has such unique vocal qualities and the horns are a great touch. Of all UB40's albums, this is my favorite. It takes a long time to get old and, if you put it away for a few weeks, it's brand new again. Groovin' is my favorite track, puts me in a good mood every time:)

I love this CD! I have both Labor of Love and Labor of Love II. I listen to them on the way to work...and on my way to soccer games and practices. It's is such a relaxing CD. Even my daughter sings along with a few of the songs. You can't help but think you are in the islands relaxing while in the real world you are setting in rush hour traffic.

My college friends and I used to play this tape in our car on our way to the beach. Now that we have CD players in our vehicles it is even better! Definitely buy it! It is so much fun!

This is the 2nd of the Incredible series... & it is close to match the first. This album is really suited for Americans, most of the songs were covered via radio. I for one am a huge roots & dancehall fan, but this album is more of pop reggae, but it's excellent. All in all, It's a must for any reggae lover fan...One love, Jah Schreiber

This is my absolute favorite UB40 album. It even tops the Greatist Hits volumes. This album takes you to another place, another dimension. Best songs: Homely Girl, Impossible Love, Wedding Day.... they're all great. ---Tristan "LaPacas" Heberlein : P``````

Best of their albums,

This CD is clearly their best album, even better than the Best of CD's. Together with Labor of Love I, it's actually a better combination than the two Best of's. Labor of Love II is particularly rythmic, and contains most of UB40's classic songs, e.g. Here I am, Kingston Town, Way you do the things you do.
