4.0 out of 5 stars A really great budget optical mouse
This mouse is really great. It moves really smooth. There are no problems at all. USB/PS-2, two buttons and a clickable scroll wheel. This is a USB mouse and it comes with a pluggable PS-2 to USB adaptor.

I'm not too happy with its shape. It is a little longer than it should be and has a flat hump, that doesn't fit your palm nicely like other expensive mice...

3.0 out of 5 stars Works good
Works good, not particularly fond of the shape, but not bad. Bought a classroom full of them for 6 bucks each.

I'm not too happy with its shape. It is a little longer than it should be and has a flat hump, that doesn't fit your palm nicely like other expensive mice do. The scroll wheel's texture is not as smooth as it should be. These are just the only trivial problems I could find.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got Cheese?, February 25, 2006
This review is from: Labtec Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
All of the features you'd want in a mouse (optical light, three buttons with a scroll wheel) and at a great price! When the mouse arrived, I simply plugged the USB cable into the PC and it was ready to be used. Absolutely no drivers needed. The mouse is very accurate in drawing programs like Adobe Photoshop and Jasc Paintshop Pro. It actually seems to work great in any program or game. I'm a digital artist and this mouse alone has definately increased my productivity! I highly recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Optical Mouse Review, March 25, 2006
This review is from: Labtec Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
I liked the Labtec Optical Mouse, it was well priced and provide the right features. I like the Optical feature, so there is no roller ball and I also like the center wheel. In fact, I will not purchase a mouse without the center wheel. Overall, it fulfilled my need well and at a good price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but not great., November 1, 2005

This mouse is ok for the price, however I find that it moves around the screen on it's own from time to time. It seems to stick, and then finally go when it wants to. Our old optical mouse was much better, but the kids broke the cord, so I wanted a cheap replacement, and that's what this is. A cheap replacement. I read the one review saying that this is a track ball, but trust me, it's not. It is an optical. I don't know if they got confused or what....but I checked it out and can't find any ball in it, lol. I don't plan on using this for very long...just till we get around to getting a better one. But, it's a quick fix for now, and you can't beat the price. I wasn't expecting a great product for that price, so I am not dissapointed in it. I actually kind of like the buttons, because they are a little harder to push, but that keeps me from accidently clicking on something that I didn't want to. My old mouse was very sensitive. I think the scroll button works well. The only problem I do have is that it doesn't move around the screen all that great.

3.0 out of 5 stars adequate but not great, September 25, 2005
This review is from: Labtec Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
Just a few negative points to be aware of:
- The mouse is heavy, so it is a little hard to move around the mouse pad. If you buy this mouse, I recommend using a slick, non-cloth mouse pad with it to counter the high friction.
- The scroll wheel doesn't work well when spun very fast. With my old mouse (Logitech WheelMan), I could zip up and down Web pages as fast as I wanted to with the scroll wheel, but with this Labtec mouse I have to be careful not to spin it too fast. Past a certain wheel speed, it actually scrolls the page more slowly. If I spin the wheel at a moderate rate, it scrolls up and down the page at a good clip, but if I really try to zip up or down the page, it just crawls.
- After just a year and a half of use, two of the foot pads started to slide off. One was so bad I had to keep putting it back in place every few hours, until I got fed up and just pulled it off. It's no big deal, really, since the sticky surface underneath quickly acquired a coating of lint from the mouse pad and now acts like a foot pad itself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Behaves funny !, May 18, 2006
This review is from: Labtec Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
I bought this mouse about 18 months ago. It worked fine for all this while. Now its behaving funny!
It is double clicking everything. For e.g. if I click on a mail in my outlook espress - I want it show it in the preview pane but now it opens a fresh window of that mail. Many such instances.

So I guess it doesn't last tooo long. But great mouse for as long as it lasts.

It does jump around sometimes (but not so often to be an irritation). Otherwise, a great product for the price!

I've been using this mouse for months now. It moves easily and gracefully, and doesn't catch like trackball mice do. There isn't really anything to complain about.

5.0 out of 5 stars The REAL Optical Mouse for a REALLY LOW price!!, September 15, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Labtec Optical Mouse (Personal Computers)
I just recieved my new Labtec Optical mouse that I ordered and I must say I love it! It is just as described! The "Real" Optical and a nice scrolling wheel on the top of it. I compared prices from my local department stores (like Walmart..ect) before I bought this and their prices were much higher for an Optical mouse. I have to say, I highly recommend this mouse to anyone trying to get rid of all the hassles from the wheel mouse.
