I have had this headset with microphone for quite some time. I originally bought it for on-line webcasts and radio shows. The sound comes through perfectly from the comfortable and adjustable padded headset, and the mic works just beautifully, for others to hear crystal clear voice over the Internet.I have also used this to listen to meditation music, and the quality is superb. I can't imagine why others have given this product negative reviews, perhaps the sound system on their computer doesn't work well. I have recommended this headset & mic to many people I know, simply because it works, and the price is right. Highly recommended!

The headset requires a sound card that supplies phantom power to the microphone or an additional power supply to be purchased from Labtec. Nothing on the packaging mentions this requirement! None of the 4 computers in my home office were compatible with the Axis-502 headset and the Labtec website offers a very limited FAQ list with very vague answers. The boom mic on mine is floppy and will not stay in place during use.

I use Windows2000 and I have an phone line for internet connection. And when I first bought this mic it was all cool at first, although it did pick up static. But what can you excpect? You can't be too picky right? Well, about a week after I bought it, it broke! The microphone had stopped working for some odd reason, although the earphones still worked. But what's the point if the mic doesnt work? So I shrugged it off and just thought I had spent [$$$] on a dud, no biggie. Well I bought another one, and the SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED WITH THAT ONE! Only this time it lasted two weeks before it gave out. The microphone just stopped working! And I have no idea why... But I will tell you this... After spending [$$$] on two mics that both seemed to die on me.... Im not spending [$$$] more on another one!I'm through with this mic! I do NOT recommend it to anyone who can HELP getting a different one... But if you have no other choice, then dont miss the chance... Cuz they were good mics the week or two they each lived....
