Inexpensive and Good Sound
I have these speakers which I use with a Mac laptop for about 5 years. They have a very rich sound and I have been very happy with them Lately they sometimes make a little noise so I'll get another set. The speaker is covered with fabric and maybe that's what gives it a good sound.

Good sound at low volumes
I have these speakers connected to a primary PC in our living room. They provide clean, clear, decent sound at low volumes. For general PC multimedia - surfing the web, watching videos, etc. - they do an excellent job. For music listening, however, they tend to underperform, providing distortion on bass at moderate volumes and extreme distortion at higher volumes. Once...

I have these speakers connected to a primary PC in our living room. They provide clean, clear, decent sound at low volumes. For general PC multimedia - surfing the web, watching videos, etc. - they do an excellent job. For music listening, however, they tend to underperform, providing distortion on bass at moderate volumes and extreme distortion at higher volumes. Once you turn the volume control just slightly past the center mark, you can expect distortion.
However, they provide decent background music in the room when entertaining, especially during the holidays. I just wish they could provide more power output and clean bass at slightly higher volumes. For everyday use, they do the job.
