5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Female Group
One of the first things I look for when I buy a new CD is how many hits or potential hits are on that CD. Now some people would be content to just buy a new CD because the performer or group has 1 hit single and the other 10 or so titles on the CD stinks. Not the case on Lace's new release. There at least 8 potential hits on this CD. Anyone who disagree's needs to stick...

1.0 out of 5 stars It's been done better before..
This album just does not have the fun of Shania or the sophistication and lyrical adeptness of the Dixie Chicks. It sounds like Lace is just trying to capitalize on the trend - the singing sounds rehearsed, even on "I Want A Man."

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing new group, October 9, 1999
This review is from: Lace (Audio CD)
I have to disagree with the last review, giving Lace only 1 star. They are far from terrible and they did not ruin "Angel," it's just a different style of singing it. I'll admit, I love contemporary country music, it's practically all I listen to, but Lace is really good. Their harmonies are outstanding. I wouldn't really compare them to the Dixie Chicks or SheDaisy. They have their own sound. It's as simple as this... if you like "I Want A Man," you will love this album. There are no unexpected surprises here. What you see is what you get. Three pretty ladies, beautiful harmony, great music.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hot new country trio!, December 27, 1999

I listen to this album over and over again. The music is fresh and upbeat and the voices are great. "I Want a Man" will make you want to get up and dance, and the re-make of Sarah MacLachlan's "Angel" is better this time around. If you want an all around fun CD this one is for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Lace's Sound!, November 6, 1999
By A Customer

This is a wonderful debut cd! Lace has beautiful harmonies. They sound a lot better than the Chicks and the Spice Girls for sure. Thank you so much Sandra for introducing me to the awsome sound of Lace! Its like the Girls Next Door reencarnated, only there are three singers instead of four. Totally awsome! I've added Lace's cd to my list of favorates. Its definately a cd I'll listen to for years to come.

Very comparable to the group She-daisy whose Cd I enjoyed very much. The group has fantastic harmony and they can all sing equally well. I listened to it about 4 or 5 times in a row while painting my kitchen. Thank goodness for the "repeat all" mode on my CD player. Not a bad song in the bunch, but my favorite was the remake of "Angel". I like their version just as well as Sarah's.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good country album, April 24, 2001
This review is from: Lace (Audio CD)
I've really liked this record. Lace is a very interesting newcomer in country music. They have very beautiful voices and their songs are great. My favorites are definitely "Texas Ranger" and the superb ballad "He can't talk without his hands" . Get it now, you won't regret it !!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lace, April 16, 2001
This review is from: Lace (Audio CD)
Lace is a new trio in Canada just breaking through, they have very nice voices and have talent. From the fun I Want A Man to the reminiscent True Love (Never Goes Out Of Style) there is a variety of country music here, every song is distinct and unique in its own way. Give them a try, youll be surprised.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lace have great voices, January 21, 2000

I personally like Lace, their debut single I want a man is great. Bev, has a great voice i have her debut cd. Giselle and Corbi also give a great sound. Finally an act that all sing, instead of 1 lead!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classy, Unique Addition To Comtempory Country Family!, October 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Lace (Audio CD)
Lace offers smooth sensual harmonies and soothing country crooning! This is a well rounded excellent debut effort. I can not understand why so many people have dismissed Lace as a cheap marketing ploy. Nothing could be farther from the truth. These girls have a unique sound all their own. I have to disagree with people who have compared them to SheDaisy. Both are girl groups, that is where the similarity ends. SheDaisy offers a more playful pop sound, Lace offers a smoother more sophisticated sound. Here's hoping these girls get the attention they deserve!

5.0 out of 5 stars THESE ARE THE REAL CHICKS, October 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Lace (Audio CD)
Don't get me wrong, I love the Dixie Chicks. However, these ladies have much better voices. I just hope people realize the fact that Lace are not just a bunch of pretty ladies trying to make a buck but, that they have beautiful voices and deserve as much or more recognition as the rest of the "cookie-cutter" girl bands get from RADIO these days. Anyhow, just buy the new cd I'm sure you'll agree.
