Great idea,

This LaCie 80 gigabyte external hard drive plugs into any computer with a USB2 plug and comes with Linux Mandriva installed. It's a small, 3 inch by 5.1 inch box that is roughly an inch in height and weighs less than one pound. But it transfers data at 480 MBPS. A nifty little item if you want to take a Mandriva Linux desktop system with you, and can plug into another computer when you're away.
Of course, you can also skip the drive with a pre-installed Mandriva system, and just buy a LaCie 80 gigabyte external HD, download the Mandriva programs for free, install them on the external drive yourself and run it off your own computer as a removable back up system or as your carry-all desktop for when you travel. It's cheaper the second way. |
